Governan¢• and management
The charity is a CIO operated undw the rU￿S of its o)nslÉtutKTh adopted 16 Juty 2018. Once
registe￿ with the Charity G(mn￿lS$1O￿. the exisling unregistered charity itThY*diatsly transferred all
assets, Itabilrties and assets to the CIO July 2018.
Trustees are ele(*ed annualty by the mnbers of the dwity.
The ¢harty SKle of the group is managed by four Irustees who are el￿ted from members of the
group. These trustees take on the role of chair. treasurer. fundtar3er and secretary. Charity members
can either be volunteer responders or non-OF*rational asxKiate members who participate in
fvndraising or trainry *ivilies.
The organisat*Jnal stru￿re of the charity ind￿JeS the coordinator of the group {whth at present is
the chair trustee) with the group volunteers who fom the OF*rational rTEmber5 of the group. The
Kee￿ group is ovefseen by an area Ccthinator who is then overseen by West Midlands Ambulance
servTh trust who provkle FM)licy and procedures for our Cornmunty First Responders.
The charity wntinues to benefft from its rektThships *ithin its ne1W￿ The tharrties wider stru¢ture
includes a close partnership with Vlest MKIEands Ambulan￿ Selvice (WS). IOIMAS provid8 train8d
volunteers Icommunty First Reswndets CFRS) to Keele Communty Fifst Responders. The charity
also utilises volunteers from Universty and the bcal communty to meet its ok4'e¢tives. The
charity conkn'nues to have a close rdatsonship wilh Keele UnNersity vtho provide frdaliiiès to enable the
charity to operate on the university campus.

Summary d the maln activits￿ undortakon
Our Community First Res[￿ [eSF￿nd to 999 Calls from Keele. STr￿erda￿, Madeley and its
sumyjnding areas. in partnership wth West M￿landS Ambulan￿ SeNice. The chartty attends 999
calls in a vehicle and provides immedrate assessment and life support trealment before the NHS
ambulance arrrves. The charity akn provides kKal tea¢hng of bas￿ life supkm CPR and automated
defibrillator use to groups and members of the public.
Public Benefft
The Trustees of the Charrty are aware of the Gharity Commission's gu￿￿an￿ on public benefft and
have regard to it in their administratscffi of the Charity.
Summary of the maln achlovements durfng tho p•riod
In the financial year of 2019-2020 we gave a total of 867 hours of ￿1ver and in that time responded
tr) 100 e￿￿rgencY 999 calls in our reswnse area. The grcwjp gave irtstwcti￿ on 1 Heartstsrt course.
In the pwious finanaal yw of 201&2019 we gave a total of 1291 hours of wver and in that we
responded to 197 emergency 999 calls in our response area. The group gave instruction on 13

The principal sources of funts are from collections at e¥￿ts atlended by the charity. ColiectLin pots
are also plxed in local l)u$inesses whth are co1￿¢￿j regularly. Donalions are py￿1¢alty made to
the charity. Grants have teen awarded in FWW)us finartial years. usualty wTrth a speufic purchasing
goal of a new piece of equipment
Expenditure suprrf)rts the running and O￿ational abilty of the charity. EquipnEnt and vehicle
servicing and upkeep maintain$ the operational abilty of the charity.

Main Risks and impact of Covid-19
Risks include a lack of fvndraising opportunities. Currenuy during the Covid-19 pandemic the
opwrtuniltes to fundrase are limited. As a group we have tried to ensure that the backup fijnds in the
ac￿Unt we ad4uate lo maintain Ihe group's okHalv)nal abilty.
The freqw of training pro¥Kled by th8 ambUL2n￿ seprfK* has limited our n8w volunteers over the
past 3 years however new ￿U[seS ate n(hv becoming avalable and our current volunteers are
maintaining cover. Covid-19 has also provbjed owational changes vthich the group have adapted to.
