Mr Choksi stated is very impressed with the running of the centre and is pleased with the centres progress. He also expressed his thanks to all the volunteers who give their time to the centre.

5) Treasurers Report:

This year has been one of rebuilding and renewing. As can be seen by looking around the building. You will notice the new Accessible Toilet, the restructuring of the toilets and the new lighting.

Looking at the Statement of Accounts you will see income from Hiring and interest has more than doubled, unfortunately the amount of grants we were able to obtain has dropped by £8,000.00. Led by the Place of Welcome group we have been able to raise £777.84 towards the cost of a Defibrillator for the Centre. (Since the beginning of this financial year they have now raised enough to purchase a Defibrillator and have enough money to service the machine for 5 years.)

From the outgoing section you can see a great increase costs in servicing and improving the Centre. Electric, Water and Insurance have all increased by at least 25%. The maintenance costs of £9,033.27 can be broken down to new toilets - £7,604.21, Tables and trolly - £357.65, Floor repair - £552.50, with the balance of £518.91 made up of consumables (toilet rolls, cleaning materials, printing etc).

Overall, I feel we are solvent and can look forward to a busy time with the Centre becoming more used.

Over the year we have had a busy time for bookings and activities. Here are some of the key dates:

6th April – work started on the new toilets.

19th April – bookings restarted, Best of Both Care, Boxersize, Place of Welcome and Church of the Good Shepherd.

23rd July – Scouts restart, Best of Both Care left.

5th August – Place of Welcome extended their hours by 50% to 3 hours.

30th September – Place of Welcome held a Macmillan Day and raised £672.00

14th October – Place of Welcome – Dementia talk.

We have also held several workdays on the Centre including floor repair, Work on roof, clean and replacing gutters, cutting the grass and especially to the weekly cleaners Joy, Jeanne and Ken.

Since the new financial year we have had some great activities including Dedication of the Defibrillator by the Mayor, Jubilee Tea, Visit to RHS Bridgewater, The new lights fitted.

We are looking forward to our Macmillan Day on Thursday 29th September 2022.

Jobs we will be looking to complete this year include replacing the flooring (subject to grant funding), redecorating and up-dating the meeting room, repairing/replacing front door.

I would like to thank everyone who has help and supported the Centre during the year. Without their enthusiasm and encouragement, we would not have achieved as much or had so much fun.

The current activities being at held at the centre were discussed and further bookings welcomed.

Jane Rogers gave an overview of the improvements that have occurred within their Scout group and how the numbers have grown. They have now been running the group for 5 years at the centre.

10) Closing remarks by Chair

Mr Choksi is pleased with the financially stable position that the centre finds itself in through the hard work of the volunteers. He encouraged everyone present to use the centre as much as they can as it is our community and our centre. Mr Choksi asked everyone to keep doing what they are doing as the centre is performing well.
