All acting for the complete period of this report. The Trust employs no staff.
The Fontmell Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with a constitution dated 13[th] July 2018.
Future charity trustees are appointed by resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the existing charity trustees.
Objects of the charity
The objects of the charity are as follows:
-
(a) To advance the Christian faith for the benefit of the public in accordance with the Statement of Beliefs appearing in the schedule attached to the constitution in such ways as the charity trustees may from time to time think fit.
-
(b) To relieve persons who are in conditions of need, financial hardship or sickness and to relieve the distress caused thereby in such parts of the world and in such ways as the charity trustees may from time to time think fit.
The trustees only give grants to charitable projects in which the family already have a personal interest. They are unable to consider general grant-making requests.
Activities undertaken for the public benefit
The distribution of funds by way of gifts and grants to other charities and individuals which advance the objects of the charity.
During the period of this report the charity trustees have authorised and made payments to
-
a Church of England parish church for its general fund and hardship fund,
-
five international Christian mission agencies and their field workers,
-
a Christian charitable agency resourcing young people’s work in the UK.
All payments have been to UK bank accounts and the trustees have taken care to ensure they have appropriate internal financial controls in place with proper receipts requested and filed for each gift or grant made.
In addition, the charity trustees are confident that they have complied with their duty to have due regard to the Charity Commission's public benefit guidance when making gifts and grants and have read the relevant Charity Commission publications on this.

Main achievements during the period
The trustees receive regular reports from each charity or individual that receives gifts or grants and so are able to monitor the impact that their gifts or grants are having.
Examples include the ongoing provision of accommodation and education for street children from Kampala, support for a global relief agency, the development of a school for children in downtown Lusaka, further steady progress made to complete the translation of the Bible for the first time into the Toba language in Argentina, a Christian global eco-project with sponsorship for African students, new activities and support for young people in the St Albans area, and the continuing activities of a UK parish church as it serves its local community through free meals, practical support for children and families on its estate and a wide range of other church activities.
Financial reserves
The charity trustees seek to pass on funds given to the Fontmell Trust without undue delay and so aim not to hold significant balances or to build up any material reserves.
The charity trustees have today approved the report above.
Signed on behalf of the charity trustees
