In addition, the charity trustees are confident that they have complied with their duty to have due regard to the Charity Commission's public benefit guidance when making gifts and grants and have read the relevant Charity Commission publications on this.

Main achievements during the period

The trustees receive regular reports from each charity or individual that receives gifts or grants and so are able to monitor the impact that their gifts or grants are having.

Examples include the ongoing provision of accommodation and education for street children from Kampala, the growth and development of a school for children living in poverty in Lusaka, distribution of the Scriptures to pastors in East Asia, further steady progress made to complete the translation of the Bible for the first time into the Toba language in Argentina, new activities and support for young people in the St Albans area, and the continuing activities of a UK parish church as it serves its local community through free meals, practical support for children and families on its estate and a wide range of other church activities.

Financial reserves

The charity trustees seek to pass on funds given to the Fontmell Trust without undue delay and so aim not to hold significant balances or to build up any material reserves.

The charity trustees have today approved the report above.
