Objectlves and Actlvities
The purpose of the charity is to promote the preservation and protection of men and
women's good health, and is fully inclusive of all individuals irrespective of their
crrcumstances. For the public benefft. in particular, but not limited to those who are
retired, unemployed or have health problems, through the provision of facilities for
hobbies, recreation, or other leisure time OCLupations including practical interests,
skills sharing, the learning of new skills, and helping with other community based
projects.
Under nomal circumstances meetings are held 3 mornings a week, in our Shed,
i¢h is equipped Mth 8 range of tools. During lockdown, as the Shed was 'off limrts.
we have been holding regular Zoom chats from the Secretary's home with our
members, and issuing weekly email updates. Again under normal circumstances,
members undertake their projects, assist with projects in the community, or make
products for sale. A separate area is available for a coffee and a chat.
The trustees have had regard to the guidance given by the Charity Commission on
public tenefit.
Achlmm•nts and Performanc•
Regrettably, as lockdown came into existance early on in our reporting period, very
little work on projects took place. However during that time, a Couple of members
reviirBd the Shed, under Covtd safe working conditions, complete with the
installation of LED lighting, and many very accessible points for the attachment of
power tools. This will make for a much brighter and more ple8sant working
environment.
Flnanclal R•vl•w
Unfortunately, as we were under lod(down conditions for three quarters of the
reporting peri(hJ, income to the Men's Shed was considerably redU￿d compared to
previous years.
To allow for unforeseen circumstances, which could include the unlikely event of us
having to wind up the organisation, y￿ hold a small reserve.
