School parties and Educational visits are included in the museum programme to support the local history elements of curriculum, and to illustrate how the development of the mill was an integral part of the Industrial Revolution (particularly textiles) that made Lancashire and England famous throughout the world in technological developments and finance. Showing children how hard their ancestors had to work to survive. The Trustees are mindful of and are dedicated to the support of the Charity Commission’s guidance on what is public benefit.

**Achievements and Performance** 



> SORP reference **Everything has been held in abeyance whilst negotiations have been taking place between Lancashire County Museums Servicer (who are the current day to day operators of the museum) and National Trust regarding the possibility of NT taking over as operators.   Negotiations have now terminated and NT have withdrawn their interest, meaning that Lancashire County Museums Service will continue with the day to day management of the museum.** Summary of the main Para 1.20 achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole.
