We have storage facilities in Crewe and Hale Bams where donated presents. teddies and books can be dropped off. We also use these storage facilities lo slore all toys we purchase. vi wofd na We sort through all the donated books and teddies ensuring they are a high quality. Any not of a sufficient quality or which have been defaced in some way are eilher repaired. recyded or donated to charity shops within the area_ All teddies donated are washed, dried and stored until needed, this equates to approx..6000 teddies per year and over 15,000 books per year. All children requiring support from The Toy Appeal are referred to us via their school, social worker or food bank. The Toy Appeal liaises only through these methods and does not engage directly with Ihe children or their families. Section D Achievements and performance Summary of the main achievements of the charty during the year 2022 was a challenging year due to the volume of requests we received. We were able lo support over 10,700 children with amazing support from our donors and supporters. In each toy sack we were able to add - A main present Books Craft item Sports item teddy bear lage appropriate) Game stocking filler All are age appropnate The contents are worth approx. £25 Iwholesalelper toy sack Our requests increased by another 1000 children in 2022 and we saw an increase of the price of toys Iwholesalel also. We were able to hold our first fundraising event since the COVID Lockdown and we celebrated 10 years of the Toy Appeal al the fundraising ball. Everyone involved with The Toy Appeal is a volunteer. The Toy Appeal bring joys to not only the children and families we support, but also to those who support us ar)d know what a difference they are making to a child who doesn't expect any presents to open on Christrnas morning.
