Reference and Administrative Details Omar Al Farouq Islamic Foundation is a registered charity operating as a mosque and community organisation.

Structure, Governance and Management The charity is governed by its trustees, who are responsible for setting strategy, overseeing activities, and ensuring that the charity operates in accordance with its charitable objectives and legal requirements. Trustees meet as required to manage the affairs of the charity. 

Objectives and Activities The objectives of Omar Al Farouq Islamic Foundation are to advance the Islamic faith and to support the local community. 

The charity operates as a mosque, providing a place of worship and regular daily prayers. In addition, the charity runs Arabic and Qur’an classes, offering religious education to children and adults. Educational activities take place alongside prayers and community services, helping to promote understanding of Islam, good character, and community cohesion. 

Public Benefit The trustees confirm that they have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. The activities of the mosque and Arabic school are open to the local community and provide clear religious, educational, and social benefit. 

Financial Review During the year, the charity received income mainly from donations and community contributions. Expenditure related to running the mosque, educational activities, and general operating costs. The trustees aim to ensure that funds are used responsibly and solely to further the charity’s objectives. The charity seeks to maintain modest reserves to meet ongoing expenses and ensure continuity of services. 

Plans for the Future The trustees intend to continue providing religious services, Arabic and Qur’an education, and to develop further community-based activities as resources allow. 

Trustees’ Responsibilities Statement The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees’ Annual Report and accounts in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom accounting standards.
