## **Trustees Annual Report** 

## **Trustees:** 

The following trustees held office throughout the financial year 2023 

Chair: Brian Johnson 

Treasurer: Dermot Preston 

Secretary: Emma Newman Pauline Ong Murray Nee Michael Corlett 

In accordance with the constitution, two trustees, Brian Johnson and Murray Nee stepped down at the AGM of the Friends of Didsbury Park In March 2023. Both re-applied and were elected by the members for a further term. 

An additional trustee, Dr Joyce Barclay was appointed in February 2023 and was formally elected by the members at the AGM in March 2023. 

An additional trustee Allan Jepson was appointed in November 2023 and will seek formal election at the AGM in March 2024 

Secretary Emma Newman retired on 31[st] December 2023. 

## **Principal Activity:** 

The principal activity of the Friends of Didsbury Park is the maintenance and improvement of Didsbury Park.

## **Operations Report** : 

2023 has been an amazing year for the Friends of Didsbury Park. In addition to being voted by the public the ‘most favourite’ park in Manchester in 2022 the Friends of Didsbury Park received the Kings Award for Voluntary Service which was announced on the King’s Birthday in November 2023. This award is equivalent to an MBE for groups and is the highest award a volunteer group can receive in the UK. 

The volunteering work undertaken during 2023 once again hit new record levels (7403 hours) and many major projects to improve Didsbury Park have been successfully completed.
