Trustees Report 2024 for Charity Commission
In 2024 many donors from the UK gave directly to the registered charity in the Dominican Republic, Fundacion Go MAD Dominican Republic via UK charity Stewardship. As a result, the donations made directly via Go MAD UK are much lower than in previous years. The funds given and managed directly by Go MAD UK were used to continue the charity aims of education, health care and supporting Nazareth House, home for children and young people with disabilities.
In 2024 we were able to help support 5 students with tuition fees and transport or university. These students come from the communities of Esperanza and Severet.
We supported staff salaries at the childrens home for 6 weeks, as well as covering some costs associated with running the medical clinics in Esperanza and Severet.
Go MAD UK trustees are satisfied all funds raised are being used for our charitable purposes, as are the funds raised through Stewardship which go directly to our partner in the Dominican Republic. These funds are also used for university students, Nazareth House, medical clinics, English classes and preschool programs.
