Holy Trinity Lutheran church is also responsible for the maintenance of the Church., the church hall and the Parsonage.
Objectives:
The objects of the church are:
-
To offer regular worship
-
To provide a ministry care and love
-
As the disciples of Jesus Christ, to bear witness in the variety of the church’s organised life.
Activities:
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is committed to enabling as many people as possible to worship at our church and to become part of our church community if they so wish. The charity maintains an overview of worship and makes suggestions on how our services can involve the many groups that live within our church. Our services and worship help people to put faith into practice through prayer and Scripture, hymns, songs and Sacrament. Whenever we plan our activities for the year, we always consider the Charity Commission’s guidance for the advancement of religion for public benefit. To this end we work very hard to enable ordinary people to live out their faith as part of our church community. We do this through: Worship and prayer, learning about the Gospel and liturgies, and developing their knowledge and trust in Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. The pastor, The Rev’d Sunday Effiong provides a sermon in a nutshell every Sunday for members to take home this enables them to meditate on the Word of God they heard that day throughout the week. During the covid 19 period when the church is not open, Rev’d Effiong also provides Sermon and Service materials online for members to worship at home. We do not offer Sunday School for children every Sunday because of covid 19. But we continue to provide Portals of Prayer for daily Bible reading and prayer. As a result of the pandemic our pastoral care for people living in our church community is on hold till further notice. The missionary and outreach work are also on hold. The Rev’d Sunday Effiong has not visited all church members who have requested it, to celebrate communion with them either at their homes or in hospital due to covid19. He is also unable to visits all who are sick or unable to get out for any other reason to keep them in touch with church life. But they are constantly in our daily prayers, and our online Sermons and Service materials are sent to them via internet. All are welcome to attend our regular services. As a family of God, we are committed to serving, and welcoming and loving all God’s people.

Worship
Throughout the year, worship services were held on Sunday mornings. No Sunday School for children as we have none of them at the moment. Special services were held in the Lent/Easter and Advent/Christmas seasons as well as Christmas Carols Other festivals such as Harvest Dinner, Christmas Dinner, Fish Supper for Lenten Seasons, Barbecues all with quizzes, were all suspended due to covid.
As well as our regular services, we are open when allowed, to enable our community to celebrate and thank God at the milestones of the journey through life. Through baptism we thank God for the gift of life, in marriage public vows are exchanged with God’s blessing. There is renewal of marriage vows. And through funeral service friends and family express their grief and give thanks the life which is now complete in the world and to commit the family to God’s keeping.
