The Care for Clare Appeal
Trustee Report for the year ended 31 March 2021
The Charity’s ongoing objective has been to raise funds for a Hydrotherapy Pool for the special needs children at the Clare school.
However, a combination of escalating capital costs of the pool, and the Covid-19 pandemic’s impact on fundraising, meant that the Trustees agreed that they were no longer confidant of raising the necessary funds. To carry on would incur more costs (eg professional fundraiser) without the guarantee of raising more funds. Sadly, the project to build the Hydrotherapy Pool was cancelled.
The Trustees have offered the funds in the charity’s bank accounts to the school and, are now in the process of considering applications from the school to support smaller capital projects that will give immediate benefit to all the children at the school.
The Trustees have contacted all the major donors to the hydrotherapy pool project to ask if they wanted their donations back. Everyone has responded that they are happy for their donations to go to the school as in the paragraph above.
