||Slot Machine Theatre CIO applied for and received a research and<br>development grant from Arts Council England for our project<br>provisionally titled ‘Blink Blonk’.<br>This is a science-driven piece for the pre-school age group,<br>specifically centring women of colour in science.<br>The grant from Arts Council England was for £14,705.75, of which we<br>received the initial payment of £13,235 in this financial period.<br>The purpose of this research and development period was to develop<br>a show we had previously created for the Discover Children’s centre in<br>2021, to expand it into a longer show for pre-school ages, and also to<br>create another show that could run alongside, aimed at slightly older<br>children.<br>We completed this research and development, and are now planning<br>the future life of this show, which may involve taking it on tour as a<br>small scale touring piece.<br>Inspired by our work with special needs pupils during this R&D period,<br>we are also hoping to develop this show into a much bigger multi-<br>sensory installation piece that would work for all ages and abilities.<br>This is very much in the early stages of development.<br>We also received a grant of £936 from Groundwork UK, towards<br>diversifying our board of trustees.|

This show is based on a book written by the company, which is<br>being published to coincide with the show. At Norden Farm Centre for<br>the Arts in Maidenhead we’ll be presenting ‘One Snowy Night’.<br>Planning and applications to charitable trusts for funding to go towards a<br>short film, entitled ’12 weeks’, to be filmed in late 2023.<br>Recruiting new board member.|
