Report of the Trustees
The Trustees of The Community of the Franci51an 515ter5 of the Renewal, Si Clare's Convent,
Leeds, registered charity number 11789871'the Community'l present their Annual Report and
Accounts for the year ended 31 August 2025. The Accounts have been prepared in accordance
with section 133 of the Charities Act 2011, on the Receipts and Payments Accounts basis.
Objectives and Activities
Charltable Aims
The principal aims of the Community are:
the relief of poverty in particular among the destitute and
the advancement of the Christian Religion.
The Community Ilves the Gospel in simplicity according to the ideals of Saint Francis, as handed on
by the Capuchin traditlon. The Community serves the poor and wider public through Prayer and
spiritual instruction and encouragement, including monthly prayer groups and retreats.
Public Benefit
The Community seeks to relieve poverty by providing practical help to the poor and destitute in
the form of food, clothin& and emergency financial assistance for utilities as well as providin8
support through home and nursin8 home visits.
Structure, Govemance and Management
The Community of the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal is a public a550ciation of the faithful
established in 1988 as 3 parallel Community to the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal.
Legal Framework
The Charity Is regulated by a trust deed dated 22 August 2017. The Trustees hold the authority to
appoint new Trustees.

The Trustees are selected from those actively involved In the day-to-day running of the
Community. During the year ended 31 August 2025 the following members of the Community

Achievements and Performance
The values uniting the sisters include a stron8 prayer life which is liturgical, contemplative,
Eucharistic, and Marian. The emphasis on a common life marked by a warm family spirit, joyFul
imitstion of Saint Frantis and Saint Clare, faithfulness to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church
and loyalty to the Holy Father. The apostolate is the fruit of this love poured out for others.
Financial Review
The Communit¢s financial position is set out in the receipts and payments accounts and the
statement of assets and liabilities.
As disclosed in the Receipts and Payments Accounts on page 6 the total income for the year
ending August 2025 was £31.72612024: £38,519), total operating expenditure was £30,929
12024: £27,832), resulting in a surplus for the year of £79712024.. £10,687). The Community does
not hold any investments.
Total Community Funds at 31 August 2025 were £42,19412024: £41,396).
It is the policy of the Community that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a
specific use should be retained to cover the future cost of enabling the Trustees to continue to
meet the objects of the Community including the maintenance of the convent. The Trustees,
reserves policy is to hold at least three months, operating expenses.
The Trustees are confident that the Community is able to continue for at least the next twelve
months.

Independent Examinerfs Report
I report to the Charity's Trustees on My examination of the accounts of the Charity for the year
ended 31 August 2025.
Responsibllities and basis of report
As the Charity's Trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance
with the requlremenES of the Charities Act 20111"the ACY'I.
I report in respect of my examlnation of the Trusvs accounts carried out under section 145 of the
2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Dirertions given
by the Charity Commission under section 14515llbl of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention
in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
the accounting records were not kept in ac¢ordance with section 130 of the Charitles
Act; or
the accounts did not accord with the accounting record5," or
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and
content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008
other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fairf vlew which is not
matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examlnation
to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of
the accounts to be reached.
