Report of the Trustees
The Trustees of The Community of the Franascan Slsters of the Renewal, St Clare's Convent,
Leeds, registered charity nufflber 11789871'the CommuntVI present their Annual Report and
Accounts for the year ended 31 August 2024. The Accounts have been prepared in accordance
with section 133 of the Charities Art 2011. on the Receipts and Payments Accounts basis.

Charltable Alms
The prinapal alm5 of the Community afe:
the relief of poverty in particular among the destitute and
the advancement of the christian Reli￿on.
The Community Ilves the Gospel In simplitity accordlng to the ideals of Saint Francis, as handed on
by the Capuchin tradition. The Community Serves the poor and wider public through prayei and
Spiritual instrurtion and encouragement. including monthly prayer groups and retreats.
Publlc Benefit
The Community seeks to relieve poverty by providing practical help to the poor and destitute in
the form of food, dothin& and emergency tinancial assistance for utilities as well as prowdin8
suppoit through home and nursing home visits.
Slrurtur4 Govemance and Management
The Community of the Franascan Sisters of the Renewal is a public association of the faithful
established in 1988 as a parallel Community to the Frandscan Friar5 of the Renewal.
Le8al Framework
The Charity is regulated by a trust deed dated 22 August 2017. The Trustees hold the authority to
appoint new Trustees.

The Trustees are Selected from those adively involved in the day-to-day running of the

Achlevements and Performance
The values uniting the sisteT5 indude a strong prayer life which is liturgical. contemplative,
Eucharistic, and Marian. The emphasis on a common life marked by a warm family spirit, joyful
imitation of Saint Francis and Saint aare. faithfulness to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church
and loyalty to the Hdy Father. The apostolate is the fruit of this love poured out for others.
Flnanclal Revlew
The Community's financial position is set out in the re￿IPtS and payments accounts and the
stotement of assets and liabilities.
As disclosed in the Receipts and Payments Accounts on page 6 the total income for the year
ending August 2024 was £38,51912023- £25.9211. total operating expenditure was £27,832
12023= £30,533), resulting in a surplus for the year of £10.687 12022: deficil £4,612). The
Community does not hold any investments. Total Funds of the Community at 31 August 2024
were £41,39612023: £30,707).
It is the policy of the Community that unrestrirted funds which have not been designated for a
specific use should be retained to cover the future cost of enabling the Trustees to continue to
meet the objects of the Community induding the maintenance of the convent. The Trustees,
reserves policy is to hold at least three month5. operating expense
The Trustees are confident that the Community 15 able to continue for at least the next twelve
month5.

Independent Examinerfs Report
I report to the Charity's Trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Charity for the year
ended 31 August 2024.
ResponsSbilltle5 and basls of report
As the Charity's Trustees. you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance
with the requirements of the Charities Act 20111.the Ad").
I report in respert of my exarnination of the Trust's accounls carried out under section 145 of the
2011 Art and in (arryinB out my examination. I have followed all the applicable Directions given
by the Charity Commission under section 145lSllb} of the Act.
Independent examlner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention
in connertion with the examinalion which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
the accounting records were not kept in accordance with settion 130 of the Charities
Act: or
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records- or
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerninE the form
and content of accounts set ￿t in the Charities (Account5 and Reports) Regulations
2008 other than any requirement that the accounts Eive a 'true and fairf view which is
not a matterconsidered as part of an Independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come auos5 no other matters in connection wtth the examination
to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of
the accounts to be reached.
