## **1st January 2021 - 31st December 2021**

The global pandemic continued to impact our in person fundraising plans, however we continued to reach our supporters via online updates on the projects and news from the Holy Land. This has seen a large increase in donations, with over £7,000 being donated in the FYE 2021. We aim to capitalise on the increased engagement with our supporters and will be planning more in person fundraising efforts for 2022.

## **Progress at the two PTS UK Projects.**

The Dar Al Majus (or House of the Three Kings) aims to create a sustainable center for vocational training, social support and cultural awareness.

The House will beneit the local community and will directly impact more than 600 vulnerable community members (youth, women, mothers, children) per year by providing vocational training, employment, and entrepreneurship support, and/or psycho-social support, including music therapy sessions and referral services.

This House will be a cultural center where all visitors will be welcome to ind their connection to Bethlehem’s culture and history. Tourists and Pilgrims alike, who visit the nearby Church of the Nativity will be invited to one of the many events that promote dialogue, art, culture, and business.

The donations to PTS UK allowed for the irst grant to be made to part fund a A Hydraulic Wheelchair Lift which was needed for the DAM House to make this space fully accessible to all visitors and more accessible for those with limited mobility. The Grant was made in September 2021 and the project aims to be complete in August 2022. (See Annex 1 for images of the Lift and Dar Al Marjus)

## **Terra Sancta Museum.**

In the heart of the Old City of Jerusalem, the Terra Sancta Museum preserves and promotes the archaeological and artistic heritage of Christianity, a treasure that has been safeguarded by the Franciscans of the Custody of the Holy Land for more than 800 years.

The Terra Sancta Museum project is to have three sections: the multimedia and archaeological sections are in the Monastery of the Flagellation, on the Via Dolorosa, and are already partially open to visitors.

The plan for the coming year will be to raise funds for speciic areas of the Historical Museum, installed at the heart of the Franciscan HeadQuarters at St. Saviour’s Monastery in the Holy Land. The section will be divided into two parts: the history and mission of the Custody of the Holy Land, and the Treasure of the Holy Sepulchre. The works presented, including rare

collections of paintings, sculptures, archival documents and sumptuous gifts from European courts, will testify to Jerusalem’s central role and inluence over the centuries. We will identify speciic collections that resonate with the UK donors. We will also seek donors interested in the educational endowment fund.

## **Financial Review**

Although the pandemic has curtailed much of the activity and fundraising efforts, we were still able to use our online marketing efforts to reach supporters and saw an increase in new donors since the start of 2021, which has continued into 2022 and we are pleased with the growth in this tricky time. .

Costs are kept to a minimum, with a small amount being spent on ofice and phone rental.

|Item|Details|Amount|
|---|---|---|
|Income||£7,284.55|
|Expenditure||£6,431.40|
|Grants|Lift for DAM|£6000.00|
|Admin|Ofice,phone service, ICO|£431.40|

As at FYE 2021 – The irst grant of £6,000 was made in Q3 2021 for the DAM Community Center in Bethlehem as we have been able to establish a pipeline of donations making this possible.

Reserves of £500 are required for the ofice/phone expenses.

## **Plans for the future.**

The plan for 2022/23 is to continue to build the online presence and raise the proile of the charity in the UK. The Trustees continue to work together to build a network for Pro Terra Sancta and would like to support additional projects in the area of beneit, we are planning to enlarge the number of trustees in 2022.

The most immediate plan is to host a fundraising event and to create virtual and in person tours to showcase the projects we are supporting.

We also aim to build on our network of ambassadors to assist with the fundraising effort.
