The Club's Community service and fundraising activities have been maintained. These are aimed at encouraging participation with service I events and enabling grants to local charities / organisations to help sustain the services provided. 3. Promoting Volunteering. This year the Club has recruited 4 new members. Other'Friends' of the Club help in the essential voluntary work to man our second-hand bookshop and stalls at our various fundraising activities at fetes. 4. Relief of Poverty. Relief of poverty is being tackled through donations, for example, to special needs children, homeless people, and the local Foodbank. The Club has again donated to Ihe Lions Clubs International ILCI} disaster relief fund. had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commlssion on public benefit) 5. Improving Health. The Club continues to promote and undertakè the 'Message in a Bottle, (MiaB) & 'Speclrek' health projects. MiaB are donated to the local surgery. Healthy Recreation. The Club has promoted healthy reGrealion and the environment by co- ordinaling local groups such as the Scouts to plant trees in the town. This project has further developed to encourage stewardship of the environment by allowing children involved to return to check and nurture the trees in the following months. Section D Achievements and performance 1. Support to Youth in the Community. The Club donated funds to lo¢al children's charities. Links were also developed with several local primary schools to establish the best way that the Club can support them with educational aims. 2. Support to the Eldedy and Disadvantaged in the Community. The Club continued to support the local elderly and disadvantaged members ofthe community through welfare donations at Christmas to luncheon I coffee clubs and directly to Warminster & Distrtct Foodbank. Our Lions Christmas Float visited a number of local care homes to bring good chèer to the elderly in the festive season. 3. Support to Local Charities. The Club donated to local charities including: Stepping Stones {children's charity), Splash Wiltshire, Julia's House {childEn's hospice), Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Warminsterfs Alzheimer's Support Centre, and Warminster Camival Committee.
