We started by saying how proud we were of the charity and what we have achieved this year we have funded a coffee plantation in Uganda and maze which will help support all of our children A few of our children have less foundation once they reach the age of 17 and decided to get married which isn't exactly what we wished but we can't control traditions even though we wished they would go on to have a fruitful career with our support
There hasn't been any fundraising carried out as myself and Margaret have both had family health issues but the charity is kept going by sponsorship donations from sponsors. We currently have 79 children sponsored which is a huge achievement. A few of our students are currently sit in their exams and others have finished They are doing very well at school and getting good exam results Sadly, our pigs experienced a serious bout of swine flu and they all passed away
The children have recently sent letters to their sponsors which were greatly received We are currently preparing for Christmas and have put together some food packages and gift options for our children. The children love going on shopping trips with Fred to shop for their gifts
We are looking to involve the headmaster from one of the schools in the charity in Uganda to give Fred some support in running the charity as it is quite a lot for one person. We will be holding the zoom meeting to update Jude on the situation of the charity and welcome him to Denise foundation.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT TO THE DENISE FOUNDATION UK
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Denise Foundation UK for the year ended 31[st] January 2024.
This report is made solely to the Trust’s Trustees, as a body, in accordance with part 4 of the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008. My work has been undertaken so that I might state to the Trust’s Trustees those matters I am required to state to them in an Independent Examiner’s report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other that the Trust and the Trustees as a body, for my work or for this report.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND BASIS OF REPORT
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011(‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S STATEMENT
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
-
accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records; or
-
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a fair and ‘true view’ which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
