The aim of the Cylch Meithrin is to give every child an equal opportunity to take advantage of and thrive in their experience of early years services, through the medium of Welsh.

We believe that play is fundamental to the development of children’s social, emotional physical, linguistic and intellectual needs.

We ensure that your child has every possible opportunity for learning through play using a wide variety of multi-sensory, engaging and inclusive resources that have been selected to enthuse creativity and imagination.

Activities and play are encouraged to take place outdoors as much as possible, often visiting parts of the village or further afield on organised day trips.

Our learning themes follow the seasons, local and national traditions and geography in addition to celebrating diversity of faith and culture and exploring your child’s sense of self.

We praise and reward kind and thoughtful behaviour towards others, encouraging the value of helping and supporting classmates and staff. Where personal achievements in skills and learning are made, children are celebrated and their sense of worth is bolstered by our inclusive and caring ethos.

Cylch Meithrin Drefach Velindre provides care and education of the highest quality for children aged between two years and school age. Our fundamental priority is the happiness of each child. There is an opportunity for each child to learn through play and develop to their full potential in a happy and safe environment.

## **Datblygiad y Cylch / The Development of the Cylch**

Cylch Meithrin Drefach Felindre continues to flourish with steady attendance numbers across the year.

The success of the Cylch is very much due to our staff and we appreciate very much the hard work and commitment of both Ffion and Kate who continue to look after the young children and provide a high standard of care during the year. They continue to provide a vibrant and interesting programme of activities throughout the year which we are extremely grateful for. Parents continue to provide positive feedback at the open day sessions which gives them the opportunity to see what takes place at the Cylch Sessions.

Fundraising continues to be essential for the Cylch to ensure that we maintain its existence. We anticipate unfortunately that there may be further challenges in the year with increased running costs, however I am sure that together as a group we will jointly endeavour to ensure that the Cylch remains well into the future. With this in mind, I extend my gratitude to fellow committee members who remain committed in their support and hard work during the year.

Donations have been received from local organisations and we are grateful to them for their support.

The relationship with Flying Start continues to work well and we hope that this continues into the future and we are grateful for all the support received from them.

The annual SASS has been completed and submitted to CIW.

## **Cynllunio ar gyfer y dyfodol / Future Planning**

Unfortunately the development of the old school house in Penboyr has not progressed, due to staffing issues within the Church in Wales. We continue in dialogue with them and hopefully this will make some progress in the forthcoming year. Flying Start have also extended their support to the project. In the medium to long term therefore the Cylch will continue to maintain its presence at the Red Dragon Hall, as it has done for many years.

The staff and committee continue to work against the Action Plan and Quality Assurance calendar, which will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.

I would personally like to thank the staff and fellow trustees for their ongoing support in ensuring the future of Cylch Meithrin Drefach Felindre.

## Diolch / Thank you
