Nod Cylch Meithrin Drefach-Felindre / Cylch Meithrin Drefach Felindre’s Aim

Ein nod fel Cylch Meithrin ydy I Hyrwyddo addysg a datblygiad plant ifanc o ddwy oed hyd at oedran Ysgol. Mae plant yn cael cyfleoedd I gymdeithasu ac I ddysgu trwy chwarae dan arweiniad roffesiynol, brwdfrydig a chymwys. Mae’r plant yn cael profiadau addysgiadol a chyffrous. Mae’r Cylch yn dilyn cwricwlwm y Cyfnod Sylfaen lle mae’r plant yn cael profiadau addysgiadol a chyffrous.

Mae’r Cylch yn cydweithio’n agos gyda’r cylch Ti a Fi sy’n cwrdd ar fore Mercher, a gydag Ysgol Penboyr I sicrhau dilyniant I’r plant wrth iddynt fynd drwy’r system addysg.

Our aim as a Cylch Meithrin is to promote the early years education and development of pre-school children through the medium of Welsh from the age of 2 until they start school. We believe that play is fundamental to the development of children’s physical, emotional, linguistically, social and intellectual needs. We provide every child has every possible opportunity for learning and socialising through play.

The Cylch follows the Foundation Phase curriculum where children receive exciting and educational experiences. The Cylch works closely with the Ti a Fi group, usually held on Wednesday mornings, and Penboyr school to provide a structured introduction and transition for children as they move through the education system.

Hyfforddiant Atal / Prevent Training;

Datblygiad y Cylch / The Development of the Cylch

Mae wedi bod yn flwyddyn anodd iawn i’r staff a’r plant, ond yn bwysicach mae wedi gweld gwydnwch anhygoel a charedigrwydd mewn amser mor ansicr. Mae’r staff wedi eu rhyfeddu gan eiriau caredig o gefnogaeth ac arwyddion o ddiolchgarwch wrth rieni a gwarcheidwaid yn ystod y flyddyn. Er gwaetha’r flwyddyn anarferol o wasanaeth, mae’n amlwg bod y staff wedi gwella eto’r berthynas gyda rhieni a gwarcheidwaid, ac mae enw da’r Cylch fel canolfan o bositifrwydd a lles y rhai bach wedi ei werthfawrogi gan y nifer o newydd-ddyfodiaid a groeshawyd gennym.

Bu’n waith called iawn i sicrhau bod y cylch yn dilyn ein Hasesiad Risg yn erbyn COVID-19. Yn ystod y cyfnodau pan fu’n rhaid inni gau, fe sicrhaodd y staff fod gan y plant weithgareddau amrywiol i wneud. Roedd hyn yn cynnwys pecynnau gweithgareddau drwy’r post, caneuon, a syniadau am weithgareddau addysgiadol a rannwyd ar ein tudalen Facebook yn wythnosol. Bu’r staff hefyd yn ffonio cartrefi’n wythnosol i wirio lles plant a’u rhieni a sicrhau bod unrhyw faterion y gallent helpu gyda yn cael cefnogaeth.

Hoffai’r Arweinyddion ddiolch I bawb sydd wedi cefnogi, diolch I’r gwirfoddolwyr a’n helpodd I glanhau’r ardal tu allan, I bawb sydd wedi cyfrannu I’n digwyddiadau cidi arian a rhoi geiriau caredig o gefnogaeth ar ein tudalen Facebook. Rydym yn falch o’n cymuned a’n plant ac yn edrych ymlaen I groesawu’r flwyddyn a ddaw.

It has been another challenging year for staff and children at the Meithrin, but more importantly it has again seen some amazing resilience and human kindness in such uncertain times. Staff have been overwhelmed by the kind words of support and tokens of thanks from parents and guardians throughout the year. It is clear that despite a very unusual year of service, the staff have further improved their relationship with parents and guardians and the reputation of the Meithrin as a hub of positivity and holistic wellbeing for little ones has been recognised by the many newcomers we have welcomed.

Miss Ffion’s and Miss Kirsty’s enthusiasm and creativity in their planning and teaching has again been amazing and there are always happy little faces meeting parents and guardians at the end of each session, holding their arts and crafts masterpieces to show their grownups with pride. Miss Grace is a dedicated and hardworking member of the team and makes a significant contribution to the achievements and smooth running of the Meithrin/Ti a Fi.

A tremendous amount of hard work and care to ensure Meithrin continued when possible during the ongoing COVID-19 occasional lockdowns and when Meithrin had to make the difficult decision to close, staff worked tirelessly to ensure that all children who attend had a full and varied set of fun activities to take part in. This included activity packs sent home via post for children to complete with their grownups. Songs, ideas for learning based activities and games were filmed and posted on our private Facebook page weekly.

The Leaders would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have shown support in helping the Meithrin continue to be a successful setting for our local children. To the volunteers who have contributed to our fundraisers and to those who have taken the time to post words of support on our Facebook page. We are proud of our community and our children and we are very much looking forward to welcoming the year to come.

Codi Arian / Fundraising

Bu’n flwyddyn anodd I godi arian gyda bron pob digwyddiad wedi eu canslo oherwydd y pandemig, ond cafwyd cyfraniadau yn ystod wythnos Calan gaeaf, gwerthu nwyddau Nadolig, a chystadleuaeth lliwio Pas gyn ogystal a gwerthu hen deganau. Diolch am bob cefnogaeth.

This again has been a particularly difficult year for fundraising with nearly all activities stopped or severely reduced by the pandemic, however, we received donations during Halloween week, sold Hot Chocolate Cones and Reindeer Food at Christmas as well as a Christmas art competition and a coffee morning. We are extremely grateful for the support received from the staff, parents/guardians, Ysgol Penboyr and the community.

Grantau a Chyfraniadau / Grants and Donatons

……………………

A big thanks to the John y Gwas who organised a Meithrin fundraising week and provided a very generous donation.

The following grants were awarded/Derbyniwyd y grantiau canlynol:

Information Computer Technology Grant/Grant ……………..

Cynllunio ar gyfer y dyfodol / Future Planning

……..

We are now working closely with Penboyr School and the Diocese of St David’s to develop a dedicated unit for the Meithrin, and our aims over the next year is to continue to offer and extend the best care and education possible to the children at Meithrin.

Following 2 years of very little fund raising there are and will be financial challenges ahead and we will be looking to our local community for support and welcome offers of assistance whether time, resources or skills in order to continue offering the best service we can to the young people in our community. From the members leaving the Committee at this AGM we thank you all for your support and wish the incoming members all the very best.

Diolch / Thank you
