Our aims are encapsulated in the following Purpose Statement .
As disciples of Jesus Christ our purpose is to .
Worship God
Share the Gospel
Use God's Gifts to Build His Community.
The Leadership Team consisting of trustees. elders and deacons normally meet monthly and
receive regular reports reviewing progress in achieving these aims.
Hounslow Evangelical Churth {HEC) continues to look for of im￿l¥lng the wider church
family through worship and social interattion. Some local. national and international
charities are generou51y supported through a tithe on church offerings and from communion
offerings.
Achlevernents and rfornHnce
Membership. Hounslow Evangelical Church (HEC) currently has 35 members, a reduction of
three on the previous year. It is affiliated to the Federation of Independent Evangelical
Churches {FIECI and the Ewdngelical Alliance. It also has links with local FIEC churches.
Worship. Sunday moming worship servI￿S have had to be refigured due to coronavirus
restrictions. From 23 March 2020 until 16 August, 8 November until 29 November and on 10
January 2021 there were no public SerVi￿S due to lockdown restrictions. During the whole
period. however. services were streamed via YouTube. Number5 attending the public
servi￿5 when allowed have Wdried from 23 to about 50. but these were augmented by those
watching on YouTube. but accurdte numbers watthing are impossible to quantify. Topics
have induded studying 2 Corinthians. St Matthew's Gospel and the Passion narrative. Only
one evening service was able to be held. For children and teenagers, groups were provided
for teaching either in the church buiiding when pem)itted or via zoom. Prayer is very

important. As well as monthly pra￿r evenings held via zoom. there have been monthty
vigils when the building has been open.
Sharlng the GospeL Within the church community. at least three Fellowship groups met
weekly where participants could share, leam. ask questions and grow in the faith- these
were mostly held via zoom There We￿ also other groups where attendees can help each
other to grow in the faith." the Young Adults group have met monthty. either in the church or
via zoom, the Ladies group On￿ via zoom and the Men's group twice similarly.
A team also went on to Hounslow High Street alx)ut six times when permitted. doing street
preaching, testimonies and singing.
Several groups met on Friday evenings to cat¢r for the youth when permitted.
A toddler group used to meet On￿ a week in tenn-time which gave opportunity of sharing
the gospel with the parents and carers both at the meetings and at special social evenings
arranged for them. Unfortunately this VRS unable to meet during the whole period.
Also, all visits to care homes in the area had to be suspended.
We also now have a church fa￿book page and a w)uTube channel where people can get
information and watch videos, as well as the thurch websits.
Using God's Members and attendees are encouraged to use their gifts by volunteering
in many spheres of church activity- stewardin& refreshment rota, AV operation, Sunday
School teaching, leading worship and small groups, preachin8, prartical work around the
church, cleanin& taking on leadership rok5, etc. Trainin8 is given where appropriate. As
noted above, unfortunately some of this had to be restricted due to coronavirus limitstions.
We also support practical￿ two outside or8anisations which (ater for the homeless- the
Hounslow Night Shelter Projett and the OIt¥E Branch homeless drop-in. where volunteers
asslst with the running of the projects. The Night Shelter project was can￿lled thi5 winter
completely and the Olive Branch was restricted to handing out food to the homeless behind
Holy Trinty Church three times a week.
Gift packs were made and handed out to elderly residents and staff at one of our ca
homes.
Most of the other usual activtties were either severely curtailed or unable to be held, such as
Praise and Worship evenings and half-term children's activitie& It is to be hoped that once
11 coronavirus restrictions arKI lockdowns are lifted, that usual artivities can be resumed.
We have a very intemational interest in missionary and humanrtarian work and IO% of
offerings is allocated to this work. Collections are also taken up at Communion servi￿$ to
augment this work.
Premlses. An on-going programme of works continue to maintsin the premises to a high
standard. Regular maintenance and cleaning of the premise continues to be important with
members and others giving time and skills to save professional costs.
Risk assessments have been carried out on the premises. both general and coronavirus-
specific.

Our premises are usually used by several other chvrch congregations and a horne schooling
group, but all these bookings were cancelled due to coronavirus.
There is also a website-www. heconline.org.uk- to make kncwn and publicise the church.
