The charity's principal object, as set out in its governing document, is to advance the Christian faith, including without limitation by using technology, software applications and other platforms. ## **Summary of the charity's main activities and achievements** To further the above objects and vision, the charity's main activities and achievements were as follows: This year we are delighted to have released our new Bible game project, _The Serpent & The Seed_ , after more than four years in development. By the end of the financial year it had reached 11,000 downloads in countries all around the world, receiving many 5 star reviews from users, and glowing write-ups from organisations such as The Gospel Coalition and the secular mobile gaming website PocketGamer, who wrote “Although I don't think it's controversial to say religion in gaming rarely works out well. But occasionally, something really compelling emerges from a genuine desire to showcase a story through the lens of faith, such as the case of _The Serpent & The Seed_ .” As well as sharing the game at conferences such as Spring Harvest and The Big Church Festival, we have also been marketing it through social media, across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and X. One user wrote, “I was scrolling on TikTok and it just popped up… and just really wanted to play it! I downloaded it and it was just breath taking! I'm 23 years old, I follow Jesus for about 10 months now and lately it has been hard to get in the Word and read it! this spiritual warfare is the worst I had since following Jesus and this gave me interest to get back in, it motivated me. no bugs or crashes, I started today and played it the whole evening!” This really epitomised why we invested so much in creating this game - trying to create an experience which would help people of all ages to engage with the Scriptures, whether for the first time, or maybe just in a fresh way. It was also a privilege for our CEO Andy Geers to use the game as the basis for a three week study course with a group of three nonChristians - each week they would play some of the game at home, then meet up to discuss and read some of the key Bible passages. Over the three weeks they looked at Genesis 2 & 3, the life of Abraham, Isaiah 53 and Revelation 22. The participants greatly enjoyed it, and one of them took away a Bible to read once the course had finished. In addition to launching the game, we also continued development and improvement of the PrayerMate app on iOS and Android and the PrayerMate Platform website, including moving our major redevelopment project to an “open beta” stage. This multi-year project has involved porting the app to the cross-platform Flutter framework, addressing long-standing user issues with the data syncing and building a strong foundation for future developments. The PrayerMate app reached an all-time total of 657,994 app downloads. Served over 30,000 active users per month - almost 53,000 users in total across the year. A total of around 20.2 million items were prayed for during the period, an average of 1.68 million items per month. Page 2 PrayerMate distributed eight devotional feeds for Advent 2024 - including our own PrayerMate Advent devotional, “Waiting for Jesus”, which had over 950 subscribers, plus “Sing In Exultation!” by Jonathan Landry Cruse, and “The Coming King” by the UK charity The Langham Partnership, “Down To Earth” by the charity LICC. Four devotional feeds were distributed for Lent 2025 - including producing our own “Praying the Psalms Through Lent” feed which had almost 500 subscribers, and “Journeying with God in the Wilderness” by Mark Broadway. In planning the activities the Trustees have applied the guidance on public benefit issued by the Charity Commission. ## **Financial review** During the year income decreased by £11,267 to £125,455, and expenditure decreased by £1,825 to £143,022. As a result the cash held by the charity decreased by £17,567 to £24,226, of which £23,723 is unrestricted and can be used for any charitable purpose. Total employment costs were £93,197, which includes our CEO and people employed or contracted to do software development and user support, social media and marketing. ## **Reserves policy** The trustees have determined that the charity should aim to hold unrestricted cash of no less than £24,000 (which equates to about three months' of unrestricted expenditure) so that the charity could continue to operate should income and / or expenditure vary adversely. The trustees recognise the commitments to subscribers that extend for up to 12 months, while noting that the costs of maintaining delivery of the service to meet these commitments are very small. At the year end, the charity held cash in the general fund of £23,723 and the reserves policy was not met. The trustees are aware of the small shortfall of £277 and will address this in the coming year. ## **Governance** Responsibility for setting policy and for determining the parameters within which the charity should operate rest with the trustees who meet regularly to monitor the activities of the charity. Responsibility for the day to day operation of the charity has been delegated to a senior management team led by the CEO, Andrew Geers. New trustees are recruited and appointed by the existing trustees, by a majority vote. ## **Risk statement** The charity is exposed to various risks - be they operational, financial or reputational. The trustees review the charity's activities regularly to identify significant risks and, where possible, they take appropriate measures to mitigate those risks. Page 3 ## **Responsibilities of trustees** Charity law requires us as Trustees to prepare financial statements for each accounting year which record the receipts and payments of the charity for the year. We are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable us to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011. I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act. ## **Independent examiner’s statement** I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 1. accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; or 2. the accounts do not accord with the accounting records. Page 7 ## **DISCIPLESHIP TECH** ## **NOTES TO THE ACCOUNTS** ## **FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2025** ## **1 Accounting policies** The accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis and comprise a statement that shows the charity's receipts and payments, a statement that summarises the charity's assets and liabilities and related notes. The accountancy profession have determined that only accounts prepared in accordance with applicable accounting standards present a 'true and fair' view and, as these receipts and payments accounts have not (and cannot) be prepared in accordance with accounting standards, these accounts do not present (and are not intended to present) a 'true and fair' view of the charity's financial activities and state of affairs. General funds are unrestricted funds which are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the general objectives of the charity. Designated funds comprise unrestricted funds that have been set aside by the trustees for particular purposes. Restricted funds are donations which are to be used in accordance with specific restrictions imposed by donors; they include donations received from appeals for specific activities or projects. |**2**
