|physical and mental health.||
|---|---|
|3.Second Memorial Bench (Pocket Park||
|riverside)||
|The memorial<br>bench, funded<br>by a local||
|family, has now been instalied alongside||
|the wild flower meadow and facing the||
|river. This provides awonderful<br>view of||
|the river and wild flower meadow for||
|contemplation<br>and reflection, by||
|providing<br>somewhere<br>for the public tosit||
|and rest a while, and as a result improve||
|their mental well-being.||
|4.River Fly Surveys and Oxygen Level||
|Surveys||
|We have undertaken<br>surveys for two||
|years now, on a monthly<br>basis, ofriver fly||
|populations<br>in our stretch ofthe River||
|Waveney. The results are submitted<br>toa||
|countrywide<br>database and used to||
|monitor river health throughout<br>the||
|country<br>in conjunction<br>with the||
|Environment<br>Agency.||
|In addition to the River Fly Surveys our||
|continued<br>Oxygen Level Surveys are||
|ongoing<br>in collaboration<br>with the EA.We||
|carry out a reading once aweek at three||
|points along our stretch ofthe River||
|Waveney, this has already proved its||
|worth<br>in helping to identify 2or3possible||
|pollution<br>incidents on the river in the time||
|the monitoring<br>has been in place.||
|This makes sure that any river pollution|is|
|caught at an early stage and dealt with||
|immediately<br>in order to maintain<br>a healthy||
|biodiversity<br>within the river and||
|surrounding<br>areas. Indirectly the health|of|
|the river and its countryside<br>provides a||
|wonderful<br>place for people to walk and||
|view the flora and fauna that surrounds||
|them.||

|ofvolunteers<br>for clearing and maintaining||
|the public areas and pathways<br>around||
|and through<br>the village, providing<br>circular||
|and cross routes throughout<br>the area.||
|This is achieved<br>by means of; weekly||
|litter picking, grass cutting, hedge||
|management,<br>pathways<br>maintenance,|etc.|
|Again afair amount oftree clearance was||
|carried out throughout<br>the year due to||
|storm damage and ongoing safety||
|maintenance.<br>The result ofthis is||
|promoting<br>a healthy<br>lifestyle by means|of|
|unhindered<br>walking<br>and providing<br>a clean||
|and safe place to come and relax and||
|enjoy the countryside.||
|New fruit trees, donated tothe SNTT by||
|Norfolk County Council and public||
|donations,<br>were planted<br>in the Pocket||
|Park to replace deadldamaged<br>trees.||
|These will help to provide an insect||
|friendly environment<br>to further support||
|the wild flower meadow and biodiversity||
|in the park.||
|6.Car Park Fencing Improvements||
|(Pocket Park Suffolk Car Park)||
|Existing wooden fencing had degraded||
|over the years and was in need ofan||
|update. This was achieved<br>by use of||
|offcuts ofthe recycled plastic posts used||
|in the construction<br>ofother projects.||
|These also provide a deterrent for||
|vandalism<br>at the Pocket Park grounds|by|
|boy racers in their cars.||
|7.Pollution<br>Events (Pocket Park Norfolk||
|Car Park)||
|Anumber ofevents arose in the village||
|which were managed<br>on behalf ofthe||
|village by the SNTT volunteers,<br>liaising||
|and supporting<br>the service supplier,||
|Anglian<br>Water, and also the Environment||
|Agency to ensure the pollution<br>did not||
|affect the river and surrounding<br>areas.||
|The early intervention<br>ofthe SNTT||
|reduced the chance ofan even more||
