To Whom It May Concern,

Please note that we are a small organisation. We used to run our services/classes privately at our homes since 2015, as an Asian Women’s Group and now it had been developed and improved. We needed to expand our services towards our women and our charity has been registered since June 2018.

We have developed classes by introducing activities which enhanced the ability of service users by giving them quizzes and providing them with the materials to learn English and got them involved in Wellbeing and Arts/crafts classes. Some women have reported to us that by attending our sessions their English has improved. Also, we were informed that most middle-aged women looked after their grandchildren as a full-time job at their homes and found it difficult to take them to the doctors or school without knowing English well.

By providing Language classes, our students are getting to know some more new words which is like others native vocabulary and the students are enjoying and learning the English meaning/definition to intensify their English vocabulary. They have begun to write English Short sentences and

practicing with formal and Academic writing. A couple of the students are interested to take an advance writing course at a College to get a Qualification certificates, to be able to do a decent job.

This year due to COVID restrictions, the services which we provided were shifted to a virtual setting by using free services such as zoom to host monthly meetings. We found this to be successful, however there was a struggle to maintain focus and engagement throughout but there was significant cost savings from this as we did not have any hiring expenses from booking meeting rooms and such, this is reflected in the accounts table above. Moving into 2021 with the ease of restrictions we anticipate over time to bring back the physical meetings while keeping a virtual aspect to reach those who are located further away within England.

Overall, the year has been filled with many activities, the main focus being on the improvement of English Language skills for both speaking and writing for the students within the group. Due to CVOID, classes were reduced hence there have been less expenses throughout this financial period, also all of the income produced this year was due to donations from the members of the organisation.

Kind Regards,

AAWO Team
