We have assisted the following charities and individuals across the year – the stories are added to mpafm.co.uk regularly; 

**Sending Leo Ward to the Junior World Series - £250.00** Earlswood cricketer, Leo Ward, has been selected to play for England under 17s in the Junior World Series 2023 cricket tournament in Dubai in mid-September 2023. He and his teammates will be up against Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, India, UAE, Singapore and others. Organised by, Action Indoor Cricket England (AICE), the governing body of Indoor Cricket in England & Wales and supported by the ECB, the event will be live streamed from the U Pro Arena. 

To  the  lighten  the  load  on  player’s  parents,  the  team  has  sought sponsorship from local businesses wanting to help support local talent. MPA has agreed to donate £250.00 from our Charitable Foundation and MPA’s  branding  will  feature  on  Leo’s  kit  and  bag  throughout  the tournament. 

Costs of attending the u17 Indoor Cricket World Cup are more than £3,000  per  player  to  cover  travel,  accommodation,  insurance  and coaching support. Leo’s father, Jez Ward, has also set up a crowdfunding page to assist with the costs to ensure that Leo does not miss out on this fantastic opportunity - any further support is welcomed at: **Crowdfunding to send Leo to Dubai to represent England in the u17 Indoor Cricket World Cup on JustGiving** 

**Wheels in Motion for London to Paris Ride - £150.00** 

Friend  of  MPA,  Hayden  Froggatt,  recently  embarked  on  a  four-day, 500km cycle  challenge  from London  to Paris on  behalf of the Cure Leukaemia’s Trials Acceleration Programme (TAP).

Having worked closely with the team at Cure Leukaemia (CL) over the past year or so, Hayden was touched by how many lives are impacted when someone is diagnosed with Leukaemia. Seeing all the fantastic work that the CL team does behind the scenes inspired him to take part in the ride to help raise as many funds as possible. MPA donated £150 towards his fundraising target. If you can support in any way, you get **’** involved via **Hayden s Just Giving page. Support to Stamp Out Knife Crime – £250.00** Pressure group, ‘Birmingham Says No to Knife Crime’, organised the ‘Cody Fisher Memorial Football Tournament’ recently in honour of 23year-old Cody Fisher, who was fatally stabbed in a nightclub on Boxing Day in Digbeth, Birmingham. Cody, the former footballer, who played for played for several non-league Midlands  clubs,  most  recently  Stratford  Town,  was  remembered  by players and fans alike when 30 teams aged 11 to 19 took party in the charity event at Star City in Birmingham. MPA is proud to have donated £250 in his memory to support the work to eradicate knife crime. **Helping the Hub with a Grand Day Out - £250.00** The Hub in Henley in Arden approached us for help in arranging a trip to the seaside for local families and we were happy to lend our support to subsidise the costs of the trip. 

Chair of the Hub, Peter Crathorn, is working hard for residents of Henley and the surrounding districts to organise a coach trip to the seaside at Weston-Super-Mare in  July. He  hopes  the  day will  see parents and children,  young  people,  youth  leaders  and  senior  citizens  all  come together for a grand day out. Henley in Bloom – £250.00** We are pleased to announce that we have once again supported Henley in Bloom with a further donation to this dedicated local community voluntary organisation. Financed by their own fundraising efforts and by donations from residents and businesses, the group does so much to ensure that Henley in Arden is a beautiful place to visit through the creation of impressive floral displays. The 2023 colour theme was purple and gold to mark the year of the coronation. 

MPA is indebted to the volunteers for all they do to bring colour and vibrancy to the town, helping to make it such an attractive place to live and work. 

We look forward to seeing Henley in Arden in full bloom next year and thank all at Henley in Bloom for their sterling work in keeping Henley beautiful.

|The range of sports children can become involved with at such a young|

|age is remarkable. Whilst many of us may have been wobbling about for|
|fun on a bike at the age of 7, we have been introduced to a group of|
|youngsters who are already building a national reputation for their skill as|
|BMX riders.|
|We were so impressed by the LCC BMX Race Team’s passion for their|
|sport, their determination and commitment to winning on the bike, that we|
|had  no  hesitation  in  stepping  forward  to  provide  much  needed|
|sponsorship to further their ambitions and success.|
|The LCC BMX Race Team consists of 5 talented riders, between the|
|ages of 6 and 9, who have already demonstrated exceptional skill and|
|dedication  in  the  sport  of  BMX  racing,  having  achieved  numerous|
|Regional, National, European, British and World championship positions.|
|The team’s success is impressive but what most attracted us to offer|
|sponsorship was the set of values underpinning that success. LCC BMX|
|have an ethos that places collaboration, shared dedication,|
|determination, and enthusiasm at the heart of their pursuit of personal|
|and team achievement. Along with parental support, enthusiasm and a|
|commitment to teamwork, we felt this was a team with huge potential and|
|we were only too happy to play a small part in helping them achieve their|
|ambitions.|

|**MPA CF Spreads Christmas Cheer -£350.00**|
|With Christmas rapidly approaching, everyone at MPA is delighted to see|
|our local Henley in Arden community getting into the Christmas spirit.|
|For many people, an essential part of Christmas is the Pantomime, and|
|we are pleased to announce that MPA’s Charitable Foundation has made|
|a donation to the Henley in Arden Community Pantomime.|
|The pantomime organisers have been hard at work for months getting|
|everything prepared for this year’s panto’. For 2023, the group are proud|
|to bring to the stage the family favourite pantomime, Cinderella.|

At MPA, we are always eager to support community ventures such as this year’s panto’ and we are pleased to make a donation to assist with the expenses of staging the production.

## **MPA Continues to sponsor Coolsportz Playmaker Award - £550.00** 

We are pleased to announce that MPA has pledged its ongoing support to coaching specialists Coolsportz through the MPA Charitable Foundation. The company is inspiring the next generation of leaders through its Playmaker Award, which it delivers to primary school children within our local community. 

Based in South Warwickshire and established by Neil Supperstone, Coolsportz is a dynamic coaching company offering a wide range of sports and holiday clubs at venues across the south of the county. 

The PlayMaker Award aims to give an introduction to leadership by giving children knowledge on how to assist in leading their own games and activities that can be used during curricular and extra-curricular time, as well as in sports clubs. 

Recommended for 9 to 11-year-olds, the Award is considered the first step to a leadership qualification and comprises six hour-long sessions focusing on inclusivity, communication, organisation, teamwork and leadership training. 

This is the fourth year that MPA has supported the Award by sponsoring Neil to deliver the course to 14 Year 5 and Year 6 students at Henley Church of England Primary School. In addition to sponsoring the latest programme, which took place in January, MPA paid for special PlayMaker caps and tabards to wear whilst on the course, and certificates for the children to receive once they have completed it.

Neil and Coolsportz deliver an important first step in that process, and the children love taking part, so we are proud to be part of the company’s ongoing journey.” 

Neil Supperstone, from Coolsportz, said: “Having the support of businesses that recognise the importance of our mission is essential for us, so I am pleased that MPA has once again committed their support.” 

“Without MPA’s support, the course would be funded out of the school’s PE budget or paid for by the parents, so they are making a huge difference within the local community. These are such important skills and we are always looking for other businesses to support our work in schools across the West Midlands.”

**Chris Wheeler M.S Charity** - **£250.00** 

MPA Independent Financial Adviser, Chris Wheeler, completed Challenge 29 back in February and raised a whopping £965 for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) charity, the MS Society. 

After receiving his own MS diagnosis over six years ago, the charity which works to fund world-leading research, share the latest information and campaign for everyone's rights, is close to his heart. 

The Challenge 29, “Short month Big Challenge” encouraged people to get walking rolling or strolling to stop MS throughout March. Everyday Chris ran or cycled for 29 minutes to back the cause – some days easier than others, with a few misjudged timescales and trickier than expected hills causing challenges. Despite this, he still achieved a couple of personal bests for 1 and 5km and covered 220 km in total. 

On a Facebook post to thank everyone who had supported him in smashing his £100 target by raising a then £750, Chris said: “Well, I really was not expecting or could ever imagined how generous people would be. I can only say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated, it means a lot and you have all helped make a difference.” 

In another positive turn of events, as a result of the fundraising, a professional contact Chris had known for years got in touch and shared their own battle with MS. Since then the two have spoken and compared notes about their stories, finding unexpected support. The ultimate vision of the MS Society for a world free from the effects of MS. Its ultimate goal is to find treatments for everyone. Until then, it is working to make sure no one has to face MS alone. Everything it does is guided by people with MS.
