School again
in support
of the PlayMakers|| ||||Award
and has made another F500 donation
to allow the children
to be|a| ||||part of this amazing
opportunity.|| ||||The PlayMaker
Award
aims to help
up to 15 students
aged between|9| ||||and 11 to develop
leadership
skills such as organisation,
communication|| ||||and teamwork,
as well as helping
to build confidence
and self-esteem|as| ||||they
take
on the
responsibility
of assisting
in leading
their peers
and|| ||||younger
children.|| ||||Neil
Suppsrstone
will
carry
out the
training
and
the
children
will|be| ||||rewarded
with certificates
and a t-shirt for their participation.|| ||||Whilst
the
children
are
all
off school
at the
moment,
preparation|is| ||||underway
for
their
return
and
the
surprise
of our
donation
will|be| ||||welcomed
by many ofthe children
who have been chosen to take part.|| ||||Elissa

in which both ourselves
and our children
live our lives has changed|| ||||dramatically.|| ||||Many schools rely on annual
events, such as Halloween
dances,|| ||||Christmas
fayres etc as a way ofgenerating
much needed
funding
to|| ||||assist with school projects.
However,
with COVID restrictions
putting a|| ||||stop to these, many schools are struggling
to generate
much needed|| ||||funding.|| ||||We received a letter from a pupil ofa North Warwickshire
school, Sheepy|| ||||Magna
Primary
School, who explained
that they had been fund raising|for| ||||a new outdoor classroom
and potting shed.
They had raised over|| ||||f4,000 from various events
but with the current situation,
all ofthis years|| ||||events
had been cancelled.|| ||||The school explained
how the outdoor classroom
would be used by all|| ||||pupils
in the school and very much encouraged
the children
to be|| ||||outside,
which
is more important
now then ever before.
It also contained|| ||||a potting shed where children
would
grow their own produce and leam|all| ||||about being self sufficient,|| ||||At hearing
the extent that they had atready gone to make the outdoor|| ||||classroom a reality, the MPA Charitable
Foundation
agreed a one-off
donation
off500.00 to go towards
the project.|| |~

~| |---| |Myton Hospice —Henley
in Arden| |We were recently contacted
by Annamarie
Varnham,
a Trust Officer for
The Myton Hospice, to see ifwe could offer any support
during these
challenging
times, to ensure that their services continue
to run.| |The Myton Hospices offer specialist care and support to adult patients
and their families
in Coventry
and Warwickshire.
The patients
have
terminal
conditions
such as heart failure, cancer, motor neurone
disease,
Parkinson's
and COPD,
All their services are free of charge.
Myton| |believe that everyone
matters for every single moment of their life and| |focus on enhancing
life when cure is no longer an option,| |The Myton Hospices are a charity and every year they need to raise E9.2
million ofthe F12 million they need to support the people of Coventry and| |Warwickshire.
Due to the impact Coronavirus
has had on their ability to
raise vital funds they expect to see a significant
drop in voluntary
income| |ofsomewhere
in the region ofF2 million this year.| |Whilst they have adapted
the way they deliver some of their services to
support
more vulnerable
people
in the community
and remotely,
their
commitment
to providing
the very best palliative
and end of life care has| |not waivered.| |Therefore,
it was without
doubt that the MPA Charitable
Foundation
wanted
to assist, especially
given the extra strain that their services have
seen during
the last 12 months,
agreeing a one off donation
ofF500.00.| |This was greatly received
by Annamarie
and the team.| |Friends of Henley
Railway Station| |The MPA Charitable
Foundation
were contacted
by Christine
Duffin, who| |along with other local residents,
have set up the
"Friends of Henley
Railway Station" charity -a charity which
will see the renovation
ofthe| |old railway
building
at Henley station.| |With lots of tidying
and planting
already taking place, the end goal is for
the station to be a tourist attraction,
bringing
tourists and income back to| |the town.
Having
already secured the Bee Trust who have pledged
to
install a series ofraised bed gardens
depicting
Shakespeare
plays, which| |will be the only Shakespeare
Garden
in Britain provided
free of charge by| |the Charity - they are off to a great start already!
I| |With hard work and new attractions
secured, Christine
and her team| |looked to secure a bank account for the charity,
which
in the current| |situation,
proved to be quite difficult.
However,
persistence
prevails
and
with an active bank account checked off the list, grant applications
and| |fund raising can begin.| |Itwas with no doubt that the MPA Charitable
Foundation
wanted to assist
Christine
and her team with their plans and we agreed their "first"| |charitable
donation
ofF500.00.| |Christine
and the team were so grateful
and we look forward
