The trustees of the charity, Potter’s House Christian Fellowship UK Bolton Church, also known as Potter’s House Community Church Bolton, are pleased to present their report along with the financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2025.

The Trustees confirm they have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission’s general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the Charity’s aims and objectives and in planning future activities.

The following individuals served as trustees throughout the financial year, with no resignations or new appointments:

Highlights of the Year

This past financial year has been an incredibly fruitful season for Potter’s House Community Church Bolton. We’ve seen God’s hand at work as our church family pressed forward in fulfilling our mission to “Make Jesus Famous in All the World.”

While continuing the renovation of our new church property, we never lost sight of our greater purpose—to reach people, make disciples, and lift up the name of Jesus in our community and beyond. Through consistent outreach, discipleship programs, and a renewed focus on evangelism, we’ve seen both spiritual and practical growth.

One of our greatest joys this year was planting and supporting our very first church in Oldham, Manchester . This milestone marks a powerful step toward multiplying the message of Jesus through new works and new leaders.

Statement of Trustees responsibilities

The trustees are responsible for keeping accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

  1. Select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistently

  2. Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable & prudent

  3. State whether applicable accounting standards and statements of recommended practice have been followed, subject to any departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements.

  4. Prepare the financial statements on an ongoing concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation.

Key Achievements

Evangelism

Evangelism remains at the heart of everything we do. Throughout the year, we hosted over 12 community events in Bolton —including concerts, games nights, park outreaches, and revival meetings—all designed to make Jesus known in our city.

Our Annual Easter Egg Hunt , held in partnership with the local council, drew record numbers of volunteers and participants. This event not only brought families together but also opened doors for many to visit the church and hear about Jesus for the first time.

Beyond our city, we sent a team to Portugal to support evangelism efforts there and continued to assist other churches across the UK, helping strengthen the wider body of Christ.

Community Outreach

Our heart for the city is expressed through ministries that bring hope and restoration.

The Men’s Addiction Recovery Group continues to grow, offering spiritual support and practical help to men overcoming addiction. Lives are being changed through the power of Jesus, one story at a time.

This year also saw the launch of “Bolton Against Poverty”, a new initiative serving hot meals to individuals and families in need. Under the tagline “Come Dine With Us,” we’ve been able to welcome dozens of guests every Wednesday for a free, warm meal—along with friendship, prayer, and community. This outreach has quickly become a highlight of our weekly calendar and a beautiful reflection of Jesus’ love in action.

Church Planting

In July, we launched our first church plant in Oldham, and it has been steadily growing ever since. The new congregation hosts weekly football sessions that have attracted many young men from the community. Our Bolton church continues to support this new work through evangelism teams, prayer, and financial giving. We celebrate this as a direct result of our mission—to make Jesus famous by multiplying disciples and churches.

Building

The church property was independently valued by a qualified surveyor during the year at approximately £335,000. This valuation is disclosed for information purposes only.

Church Growth and Development

After much hard work and prayer, we were finally able to move into our newly renovated building in August. While some renovation work continues, the building now serves as a vibrant home base for ministry and mission.

The church has grown both spiritually and numerically, with new individuals and families joining regularly. We’ve also seen the rise of new ministry teams—Youth, Media, Netball, and Football—each providing opportunities to connect, serve, and reach our community in fresh ways.

There’s a strong sense of unity, service, and excitement among our members as we continue pressing forward in God’s purpose for us—to Make Jesus Famous in Bolton and beyond.

Looking Ahead

As we step into the next season, we remain committed to finishing our building renovation, expanding our outreach programs, and raising more disciples and leaders. Our vision remains unchanged: to see lives transformed, families restored, and Jesus made famous through everything we do.

We thank God for His faithfulness and every person who has given, served, and prayed. Together, we are seeing His Kingdom advance in our city.

The Trustees give all glory to God for another incredible year of growth and grace at Potter’s House Community Church Bolton. Every milestone reached and every life touched is a testimony to His faithfulness.

We are deeply thankful for the unwavering dedication of our church family—those who give, serve, and pray to make Jesus famous in our city and beyond. Your commitment, generosity, and heart for people have made all the difference.

As we look ahead, we do so with great expectation—believing for even greater impact in Bolton, across the UK, and throughout the nations. Together, we will continue to build, serve, and shine the light of Jesus so that His name is made famous everywhere we go.

Independent Examiner's Report to the trustees of The Potters House Christian Fellowship UK Bolton Church ('the CIO')

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the CIO for the period ended 31 March 2025.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

Basis of independent examiner’s statement

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such

matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

Independent examiner’s statement

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

  1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the trustees have not met the requirements:

  2. to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; and

  3. to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act; or

  4. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
