Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

– – Türkiye Earthquake Emergency Aid Appeal

A series of devastating earthquakes have hit southern Turkey and northwest Syria killing over 41,000 people and injuring many more. The first deadly earthquake struck while people were inside their homes, asleep in their beds, with no warning signs. Thousands of buildings, including hospitals and schools, have collapsed and infrastructure has been badly damaged. Local responders are desperately searching through the rubble for survivors. People have been left without shelter in freezing winter conditions and desperately need blankets, emergency shelter, food and clean water.

STC took a deployment team to Turkey on 01 March 2023 to deliver vital aid to the earthquake survivors in Antakya. We spend days packing and distributing vital aid such as food, warm blankets, winter clothes and shelter materials they need to survive the cold whilst living in fragile tents.

Rebuilding Pakistan

The floods in Pakistan have caused thousands to be displaced from their homes who literally were left out in the cold and homeless. STC launched an emergency appeal to help save lives by providing a roof for the most vulnerable victims.

STC partnered with Save The Mother Trust rebuilding homes that have been destroyed in the floods. We were working in the most remote areas of province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in the district of Dera Ismail Khan. This truly life-changing housing project has been a beacon of hope and has provided a new beginning for families who have lost everything to the floods. Our mission to rebuild Pakistan so us build 20 homes as we took homeless families (targeting elderly and widowed families first) out of make shift tents and into a new home.
