## Section D Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

**- Fasting Iftar Project in Al-Maftash Area - Al-Ta'izya Directorate , Yemen:**

The situation in Yemen worsened as the country is plunging deeper into unprecedented famine, especially in the governorate of Taiz, according to the statement of the World Food Program.

The iftar meals project provided by STC in the Al-Maftash area, Taiz, contributed to reducing the suffering of the most impoverish individuals who have nothing to eat. The project also helped promote the spirit of brotherhood, unity, equality and indiscrimination among the needy people who gathered in one place to have a communal iftar.

**Food Project in Yemen, Pakistan & Malawi**

The governorate of Taiz is witnessing a major humanitarian deterioration as the war continues for the eighth year in a row. The suffocating blockade and intermittent waves of violence that sweep the city have exacerbated the humanitarian sufferings. The war has a massive impact on living standards for many households who are living in this stricken governorate.

As part of food assistance programme, STC provided food baskets for vulnerable and needy households in two stages. The project aimed at reducing the humanitarian suffering by providing food baskets assistance for one time to the most vulnerable and needy households in Taiz city.

In Malawi, our food programme also helped Hundreds of families. A typical food basket here contained 15kgs Rice,10kgs Maize Flour, 5kgsSugar, 2kgs Salt, 2 litres Cooking Oil, Beans, Ground nuts and 10 pieces of Soya pieces and 1 litre of juice. Much needed essentials.

Section D Achievements and performance

## **Eid at the Park – Yemen**

Hiring a park fairground on Eid day for hundreds of beneficiaries (children and their parents). Families had four meals at the park’s restaurant, received about 500g of candies and chocolates as Eid gifts, and had park entry tickets and games tickets.

The project included both boys and girls of the poorest or orphaned families who are deprived of the joy and excitement of Eid. Despite the great importance of boosting the morale of children and making them happy on Eid days, these families— who are busy securing their daily sustenance— cannot afford the luxury of spending a day at the park. They simply could not bear the cost of transportation or park entry tickets or games tickets. For them it was a day they will likely never forget!

The charity does not have a general reserve policy in operation.
