Just Shelter- Trustees Report and Financkal Statements fc*year ended 6July 2024
In the year 2023-2024, we primarily focused our attention helping refugees locally and
working with our local Council helping to settle asylum seekers and refugees.
We continued to support families in the local hotels housing asylum seekers, the numbers of
which continued to increase. Support has included the provision of clothing, footwear baby
equipment, children's toys and clothing and other necessities.
We hosted various dinners and events in a local Earlsfield cafe, who we partner with in
relation to refu8ee matters.
We maintain a strong relationship with refugee families that have moved into the area,
asslsting them with English lessons, IT equipment and navi8atin8 the details and paperwork
around job seekin& schooling and medical assistance.
We are part of a local coalitlon of refvgee organisations that work together and have for8ed
much closerties with the local Borou8h Council workin8 tO8etherto ensure the voluntary
and Government sectors work efficiently with clear lines of communication, especially in
view of Wandsworth having been awarded Borou8h of Sanctuary status.
