FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024
Thetrusteespresenttheirreportwiththefinancialstatementsofthecharityfortheyearended31December 2024.
ThetrusteeshaveadoptedtheprovisionsofAccountingandReportingbyCharities:Statementof Recommended
Practice applicableto charities preparing their accountsin accordancewith the FinancialReporting Standard applicable
in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019).
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Objectives and aims
Themuseumwillcollect,preserveandexhibitandartefactsrelatingtothegathering,analysisanddissemination of
Military Intelligence across the Army, Navy and Air Force.
Significant activities
AletterofintentwasexchangedwiththeLondonTunnelsLimited,toagreeapartnershiptodevelopthe Kingsway
ExchangetunnelsinLondonasavisitorattraction,openingin2028.Thiswillhouseanumberofexhibitions an
experienceswhich will showcasemilitaryintelligencethroughoutthe ages, the WW2 SpecialOperationsExecutive and
the experiencesof Londonduringthe Blitz.The exhibitionswouldform the publicelementof the Military Intelligence
Museum currently housed on Chicksands military base in Bedfordshire.
Public benefit
Thetrusteesareawareoftheirpublicbenefitobligationsandaresatisfiedthattheyhavecompliedthroughout the
year with the guidance published by the Charity Commission.
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Charitable activities
Allactivityin2024focussedonthedevelopmentofbusinessplans,contractualarrangementsand partnership
proposalsforestablishinganewMuseuminderelicttunnelsunderHolborninLondon.Thesewerebuiltas shelters
duringWW2butwere subsequentlyusedbyGovernmentas securecommandandcommunicationsfacilitiesuntil the
1990s. The propertyis now in privatehands and a companyhas been formed (LondonTunnels Ltd) to develop the site
as a major public visitor attraction,to open in 2028. MMI will provide collections,exhibitionand interpretation support
forelementswhichfeatureBlitz,SOEandmilitaryintelligencehistoryfromtheEnglishCivilWartothemodern day.
Negotiations for the new site were continuing at year end. Two ex-officio Trustees left and were replaced.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Financial position
The charityhas incoming resources of £840 (2023: £888) and outgoingresources of £1,033 (2023: £16,958)resulting in
a net deficit of £193 (2023: net deficit of £16,070).The charityhas unrestrictedfunds of £14,509(2023: £14,702)to be
carried forward.
Reserves policy
The charityis currentlyholdingfunds of £14,509.The charitywill continueto seek fundingto supportthe transferto a
new site.
FUTURE PLANS
ThetrusteesarenowundertakingfurtherworkonunderlyingbusinessplansforaviableMuseumof Military
Intelligenceinthepublicrealm.Noleaseorotherlegalorfinancialcommitmentswillbemadeuntilthecharity is
certainthatithasfinancialsecuritytomoveforward,andthelongtermbusinessandcontractualarrangements with
The London Tunnels Ltd are advantageous to the charity.
Longterm,thetrusteesplanforthischaritytosubsumetheolderMilitaryIntelligenceMuseumCharity (Registered
CharityNumber:278909)onceplansforthenewsitearebetterdevelopedandappropriatefundingisinplace, at
which point the Military Intelligence Museum Charity will be closed down and all assets transferred.

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Governing document
The charityis controlledby its governingdocument,a constitutionunder the foundationmodel,and was createdon 6
June 2018 under registration number 1178669.
Recruitment and appointment of new trustees
TheCIOhasbeencreatedforthespecificpurposeoflocatingasiteandconstructionofanewmuseum.The current
trusteeshavetherequisiteskillstomovetheprojectforwardandtheCIOwilllooktorecruitnewmembersas the
project progresses.
Induction and training of new trustees
Allnewtrusteesareinstructedtoreviewthematerialavailablefromthecharitycommissionregardingtrustee roles,
specifically CC3, The Essential Trustee.
ThecurrenttrusteesareallmembersofTheMilitaryIntelligenceMuseum(registerednumber278909)andas such
fully aware of the current activitiesof the existing museum and therefore have knowledge of the running of a museum
charity.

Independent examiner's report to the trustees of Museum of Military Intelligence

Responsibilities and basis of report
AsthecharitytrusteesoftheTrustyouareresponsibleforthepreparationoftheaccountsinaccordancewith the
requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act').
I reportin respectof my examinationof theTrust'saccountscarriedoutunderSection145of theActandin carrying
out my examinationI have followedall applicableDirectionsgiven by the CharityCommissionunderSection 145(5)(b)
of the Act.

Ihavecompletedmyexamination.Iconfirmthatnomaterialmattershavecometomyattentioninconnection with
the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by Section 130 of the Act; or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or
3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basis of preparing the financial statements
Thefinancialstatementsofthecharity,whichisapublicbenefitentityunderFRS102,havebeenprepared in
accordancewiththeCharitiesSORP(FRS102)'AccountingandReportingbyCharities:Statement of
RecommendedPracticeapplicabletocharitiespreparingtheiraccountsinaccordancewiththe Financial
ReportingStandardapplicablein the UK and Republicof Ireland(FRS 102) (effective1 January2019)', Financial
ReportingStandard102 'The FinancialReportingStandardapplicablein the UK and Republicof Ireland'and the
Charities Act 2011. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.
Income
All income is recognised in the Statementof FinancialActivitiesonce the charityhas entitlementto the funds, it
is probable that the income will be received and the amount can be measured reliably.
Expenditure
Liabilitiesarerecognisedasexpenditureassoonasthereisalegalorconstructiveobligationcommitting the
charitytothatexpenditure,itisprobablethatatransferofeconomicbenefitswillberequiredin settlement
andtheamountoftheobligationcanbemeasuredreliably.Expenditureisaccountedforonanaccruals basis
andhasbeenclassifiedunderheadingsthataggregateallcostrelatedto thecategory.Wherecostscannot be
directlyattributedtoparticularheadingstheyhavebeenallocatedtoactivitiesonabasisconsistentwith the
use of resources.
Taxation
The charity is exempt from tax on its charitable activities.
Fund accounting
Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees.
Restrictedfundscanonlybeusedforparticularrestrictedpurposeswithintheobjectsofthe charity.
Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes.
Further explanation of the nature and purpose of each fund is included in the notes to the financial statements.
