All trustees are appointed for a period of 3 years and allocated to offer their honourable time voluntarily without any kind of remuneration.

Les Petits Bilingues de Newham have membership renewed every year with the PARAPLUIE FLAM association which is responsible for the ongoing CPD training required to stay in line with UK and French regulations.

The purpose of Les Petits Bilingues de Newham is the advancement of education for the public benefit by providing French speaking and non-French speaking children from the ages of 3 to 16+ living in East London with lessons in French and other activities outside mainstream education to help:

Following our best achieved academic year since we operated as a French complementary School, various bilingual projects related to French language learning took place as planned through fun French language activities and games highly well-structured thanks to qualified teachers both from France and the UK who voluntarily dedicated their times to gain CPD throughout the year to enable children benefit the best of their knowledge. With fewer goals than previous years, we still maintained great standards to facilitate exceptional French bilingual ventures to happen for the academic year 2023/2024. Part of various animations was the following remarkably popular small projects held throughout the academic year.

French national days celebration with cultural activities were held from September 2023 to April 2024 Our children gained in French cultural awareness through various adventurous games and activities related to the main national French days and/or celebrations such as Halloween, Christmas day, New Year’s Eve, “La galette des rois” or Pancake Day “La Chandeleur”, Chinese New Year, Easter, Eid day, Saint Patricks Day, Mothers/Father’s Day and many more...

International Mother Language Day:

Colourful nationalities were celebrated in French through our FLAM class in February 2024.

World book day in French was celebrated in Mars 2024 Our students were offered to exchange and draw on a French book of their choice from our French Library.

Red Nose Day

To promote humanitarian action as part of our French Language School values, and in partnership with Royal Wharf Primary school for ideas sharing, we provided our pupils with the opportunity to raise money in Mars 2024 by selling French Cakes and bakery. Local French Bilingual Community groups of Newham created throughout our school with the French Flam Café with coffee morning:

Children mindfulness and well-being in French

Healthy eating awareness and the importance of regular physical activities was explained to our pupils by the intervention of a French nutritionist in May 2024.

French song class for June/July 2024

We Celebrated Musical day and our end of school year in July 2024. with beautiful French songs learning and delivering on the 24th of June with the intervention of a French singer and guitarist.

Finally, we conducted collaborative exchange with” Parapluie FLAM UK”, “Fédération FLAM Monde” and AEFE in terms of excellent language teaching resources building. Indeed, this worldwide association of French complementary schools in collaboration and full support of the AEFE (the French Educational Agency for Foreign French Language) helps local French schools in the Uk and worldwide You may choose to include with advice, as well as support teachers with online CPD training further statements, where enabling them to be updated with the French and Uk National relevant, about: curriculum ensuring it is well respected.

Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the year
Outstanding French cultural and heritage events undertaken at Les
Petits Bilingues de Newham outlined the greatest achievements of
the charity during the whole year.
French theatre and show:
We were privileged to gain partnership with “Strawberry Kiwi Drama”
offering a mutual language exchange to prepare our end of year
French drama show and celebrate it at the end of school year.
Some of our children were also given the best opportunity to attend a French
show held at the French Institute in London by Sott.
Music in French:
We celebrated Musical Day with the intervention of Madame Jazz on
24thJune 2024 and this enabled our students to discover various
musical instruments and increase their interest in their use.
French cooking class:
Our children made one of the best crêpes designs through the
learning of our delicious French pancakes’ recipe during Chandeleur.
“La galette des rois” with activities around it was also an excellent
teaching and learning achievement while trying to find the hidden
“fève”
French Art et Craft:
Our egg hunt trail for Easter and special themed event cards
creation was an absolute success thanks to Rosetta Arts.
Nutrition, healthy eating and well-being in French:
Learning to eat healthy and creating their own balanced meal plate
was possible with the intervention of our qualified French nutritionist
coach from “Commit2fit”.
Biodiversity and protection of the environment in French:
Following our successful intervention from UCL scholars in March
2023 working on a local Energy saving project to teach students
about how to save energy in French, we offered the opportunity in
Mai 2024 to build a similar project in French on Biodiversity.
French Green Class
Our resourceful open-air Montessori activities on plants, gardening,
held at Thames Barrier Park in Mai 2024 are one of the most popular
teaching ideas and rewarding learning tool of our green class project”
La classe verte” is a success in terms of memorising the vocabulary
learnt and improving speaking and listening skills in French.

Our reserves result from accumulated unrestricted amount surpluses. We Brief statement of the intend to maintain our reserves at a level which is at least equivalent to a charity’s policy on reserves rental deposit of six month’s rent plus one term’s operational expenditure. This is to mitigate against our principal risks of fluctuating pupil numbers and/or face any increase in the rental costs overall. Our trustees maintain a meticulous budgeting policy to be reviewed on a yearly basis to ensure the stability of the charity budget to stay accurate stay in line with the regulations enabling us to fulfil our obligations
