A dM)rough review of what the Bishop Wilton Show w&8 all aly)ut steered
the Committee towar(L8 focusing this year's show on the communily's
agricultural roots. How¢v¢r. mind￿1 that we provided good entertainment
for all the family, especially children. With the giant Claas combine
dominating the skyline. the glorious weather and the promise of a fijll day
of family entertainment, the community came up to High Callis on
Saturday 20th July in record numbers. Every section of the show had a
positive and vibrant EMJ72 about li from very early on in the day.
A coordinated and targetrd social media Campaig￿ early publication of
the class schedules, pJster& beer mats, the traditional roadsid¢ sign4igye
and a very professional colow programm¢ got the message out. AJI will
no doubt have contributed significantly to the success of the show.
A now entirely off-road Bishop Wilton Beast started the non-stop action
in the Main Ring at 09.30. The new rouie, despilc the unforgiving terrain,
producing some Serio￿lY in)pr¢ssive times, and stories!
A huge turnout for the Horse classes created non-stop action on the far side of
the fiekl. Show Jumping having grown considerably since its reintroduction last
year. Like Beast. we are hopefulty becoming a 'must do, event in the local
sportin8 calendar.

Dogs are always wpular at the Bishop Wilton Show. this year with dog
agility, tertier racing, the dog Zfjne a￿1 the HurLsley B¢agles in the Main
Ring. Such is the popularity of dog related attractio￿8, that we will review
how we ￿hedUle the most popular activities for 2025.
There were over one hundred sheep entered into the show. and that was
just online before the show Ixgan. An attraction growing in popularity
every year. The Young Handlers cl&ss particularly popular and important
for the future.
After the unfortunate passing of the voice of Bishop Wilson Show for 40
years, Bob Seft0￿ first-time commentator Sharon Cawood, did a fantastic
job in keeping everyone updated on what was going on around the Show
CJround. Her infornwtive and unflustered wmmentary was a fitting
tribute.
The fme weather brought out a record number of classic cars. followed
into the Main Ring by the vintage machinery. The 'farniing through the
ages. demonstration shared some serious horsetx)wer with the Percheron
horses, back by very popular demand.
These agricultural demonstrations were extremely cost-effective and had a big
impart on their audien￿ watthing. This formula looks to have been a great
success, wwth plenty of ideas to build on. It is an intention to have variations on
a theme going fopward. Invofving the local farniing ancillary industries is
potentially also a rich Sour￿ of opwrtunity for sponsorship too.
All the trade sta￿ls. food outlets and the bar were delighted with the
footfall. The WOnderfi￿ people at the Gait Inn even produced our own
glasses especially for the Show! The fabulous weather created another
vintage year for ice cream sales too!

Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional iDforni2tion)
Each year the show is reliant on the work done by so many volunteers.
This is not just the committee members but, a much wider scopc of p¢ople
who want to supwrt the show in their own way.
This is mainly done in the week running up to the show where, every
evenin8 volunteers gather at the show ground io help set up the show for
the weekend. Then on the Sunday they retum to help dismantle the show
and clear the ground of all rubbish and leave it in a fit state for the farnier
to use.
Without them the show could not take place and a heartfelt thank you
musi go to each and every one of them.

To the Board of Trustees,
RE: Bishop Wilton Show (Charity Number 1178613)
I have reviewed the books and records for the above charity
and can confirm that the income and expenditure for the year
ending 31st October 2024 and the assets and liabilities as at
31st October 2024 are recorded to show a true and fair view.
Furthermore there are sufficient reserves to consider the
operation a going concern.
Yours sincerely
Justine Jones ACA
