Organisational Structure The club has a partnership with a local school where the club shares the facilities with the school and makes a contribution towards the running costs annually. The current agreement runs out in 2035. A trustees meeting is held three times a year to discuss the various functions of the charity and the work being carried out by Trustees and volunteers. Major Risks: 1. Partnership agreement is terminated by the school 2. Main sponsor pulls out without much notice 3. Financial contengencies not sufficient 4. Key Management Committee members leave 5. Local competition Procedures to manage the above 1-5 1. Regular meetings to ensure that BOTH partners are aware of their obligations as per the agreement. Regular communication and updates to esnure various tasks are fulfilled. Agreement is the cornerstone of the partnership and both parties are aware that it is called into question if either party is in breach. 2. Club’s finnancial streams are: memership fees, donations, fund raising events and sponsorship by local business community. The club is very much aware that all of these streams are not guranteed so that has to be ongoing efforts to refresh income streams. The Management Committee discussses monthly accounts and there is a tight schedule of commitments and can only be approved by a delegated responsibility to treasurer and the **TAR** 2 November 2024 Chairperson. 3. Club is not in a position to have large sums of money due to small income streams. However Club is aware that there are events during the financial year that may bring emergencies where funds will be needed to ensure operations are not hampered. The contengecy fund is present but small. 4. Club is eneged in succession planning but due to the volunteer nater of the positions it is difficult to fill positions as not many members are willing to take on the responsibility of running the club. However there is commitment to securing individuals who show interest and commitment of time. This is a difficult area but attempts to overcome these barriers is ongoing. 5. In the vicinity of the club there are 4 other cricket clubs. However Attock is unique in that it enjoys support from members who are willing to help the club to carry out certain taks that otherwise would cost the club. It is this community and family friendly ethos that has survived the club for the past 37 years. We are very much committed to volunteering nature of our operations as if that evaporates the club will cease to exist. This would be a great loss to the community and members and the local community are aware of this. ## **Section C Objectives and activities** **Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document** The promotion of community participation in healthy recreation, for the benefit of the inhabitants of Birmingham by the provision of facilities for playing CRICKET. **TAR** 3 November 2024 mer TAR 4 Novomber 2024 Summer Camp Week 2 TAR 5 Novomber 2024 CRICKEY tLIIB .S'iiiiiiiic.i' Cciiii/) I,I'c'c A.. .'1 TAR 6 Novomber 2024 A long tradition of summer camp at Attock was reignited this summer for children during the vacations. It goes without saying that in the absence of any organized activities many would sit at home in front of TV or glued to their mobiles. A short survey of club’s youth showed that a lot of the children will not get to go on holidays so need something to productively occupy their time. As soon as the summer camp was publicized there was a very rapid uptake, far exceeding Club’s expectations. With good planning and delivery, the 4 weeks proved to be very popular with average attendance of around 88%. The success of this project means that we have some work to do to continue to support our young people during the summer holidays. Finally club would like to acknowledge the support from Moseley School for opening up the facilities for this to happen. Memorial cup was held on Sunday 25[th] August, when almost all members got involved, the whole day playing cricket and raising funds for a water project in Pakistan. Almost £1200 was raised for two water wells and these will be reported in the 24-25 trustee report. 2023 memorial cup funds were raised and water projects were supported in partnership with another charity as shown in the photograph below. **TAR** 7 November 2024 **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)** **Attock Cricket Club is a community-based organization located on the Wake Green Road, Sparkhill Ward in the Selly Oak Constituency, City of Birmingham. The club has a partnership agreement on grounds and buildings with Moseley Secondary school for a further 11 years. The partnership gives the club total freedom to operate and deliver ALL its functions. The club’s main purpose is to organize and manage the game of cricket at senior league and cup as well as junior league and cup. The club exists to serve its members at various tiers. Members have the right to elect a management group to oversee the club’s business. The charity arm of the club is run by theTrustees and the whole operation if overseen by the Club Management elected Committee. The role of the Trustees is to ensure that our charitable obligations are properly executed and documented.** **The following operational functions are performed within the club’s constitutional and developmental frameworks.** **This report (for period 1[st] April 2023 to 30[th] Sept 2024) sets out some specific activities which form part of club’s developmental plan:** • Youth winter project started (08/10/23 to (23/03/24) to cover the report period but continues beyond to Late August 2024: The success of the winter work with young people was reflected beyond the report period when a Summer Camp was organized from 6[th] August 2024 to 22[nd] August 2024, as shown above in the 4 week diary of events. The Club continues to participate in national initiatives such as the All-Stars Cricket for youngsters in the 5-to-9-year age range, promoted nationally by the ECB. The purpose of the programme is to teach and demonstrate practical skills of the game of cricket with particular focus on: - The training/coaching activities are delivered by ECB L2 coaches, who are supported by L1 assistant coaches. These are organized for BOTH **TAR** 8 November 2024 adults and youth. - The club is fully accredited as ECB clubmark status until 2025 when a review will take place for reaccreditation. - Club’s success in youth section was vindicated when a club young player was selected to represent England Lions U19 world cup squad in South Africa. Tazeem Ali 1[st] from the left in the photo progressed from Attock to our local County WCCC. It was a proud moment when Taz announced on SKY that he comes from Attock CC in Birmingham, UK. - The club memorial game is another good annual event to honor those members who have sadly passed away. The event is also used to raise funds for good causes such as water wells in Pakistan and other parts of the world. - Young people are also assisted with social, moral and cultural values to enhance their understanding and knowledge of their local communities. - Youth league and cup competitions (April, May, June and July’ 2024) were successfully completed with all youth squads performing well. As is usual all youngsters capable of being fit for County trials were selected and this year, we are delighted to report that we had one - - Youngman selected for England U19 and now offered 2 year **TAR** 9 November 2024 professional contract at WCCC. - Senior cricket on Saturday and Sunday is successful with ALL squads performing well as detailed below. - The end of season Super 10 cricket tournament held in September has now become a major event to raise funds for the club as well as to host the fast format of the game for local cricket lovers. We invest in the training and coaching of our youth and making sure the youth section is properly supported and funded. We have around 24 volunteers who help the club to run activities and help to maintain the facilities. - policy programme related investment; - contribution made by volunteers. ## Section D Achievements and performance **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** **For the period 1[st] April 2023 to 30[th] September 2024 the club’s Main activity being cricket was as follows:** - **Participated in league and cup organized competitions for:** - **ALL Saturday squads play in the Warwickshire County Cricket League. The position of the Saturday squads was as follows:** ▪ **1[st] team, was positioned 5th in the premier division. This squad of players also broke many league records with big partnerships and big scores.** - **2[nd] team, in Div 3 positioned itself in 3[rd] place and just missed promotion.** - ▪ **3[rd] team in div 5, is in the runner up position and promotion to div 4.** `o` **4[th] team, safely secured their position in div 7.** - `o` **Sunday senior 1[st] XI finished 5th in the table.** `o` **U11 played pairs cricket and as the squad was new recruits, they manged to win many games and are now in a position to be more competitive and were 1[st] in the table** - **U13 played in the championship league of WCB and again with new squad were at times out of their depth. This country was chosen as one of our members requested the management to meet him and hear what he has witnessed when he visited a village where there is severe shortage of water. His requested was supported by the membership.** - **Our CIO status enables the club to secure grants from, Sport England, ECB and many other Foundations.
