The club has a partnership with a local school where the club shares the facilities with the school and makes a contribution towards the running costs annually. The current agreement runs out in 2035.

A trustees meeting was held in November 2022 and major talking point was funds to sustain the club and support the charitable arm.

The promotion of community participation in healthy recreation, for the benefit of the inhabitants of Birmingham by the provision of facilities for playing CRICKET.

Attock Cricket Club is a community based organization located on the Wake Green Road, Springfield Ward in the Hall Green Constituency, City of Birmingham. The club has a partnership agreement on grounds and buildings with Moseley Secondary school for 25 years. The partnership gives the club total freedom to operate ALL its functions. The club’s main purpose is to organize and manage the game of cricket at senior league and cup as well as junior league and cup. The club exists to serve its members at various tiers. Members have the right to elect a management group to oversee the club’s business. The following operational functions are performed within the club’s constitutional and developmental frameworks. This report (for period 1[st] April 2021 to 31st March 2022) sets out some specific activities which form part of club’s developmental plan:

• Youth training/coaching (08/10/21 to (13/08/22): This is an organized training programme set up to engage local youngsters. The Club continues to participate in national initiatives such as the All-Stars Cricket for youngsters in the 5-to-9-year age range, promoted nationally by the ECB. The purpose of the programme is to teach and demonstrate practical skills of the game of cricket with particular focus on:

o Batting, Bowling, Fielding Catching Team building

Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

• The training/coaching activities are delivered by ECB L2 coaches, who are supported by L1 assistant coaches.

• The club is fully accredited as ECB clubmark status until 2025 when a review will take place for reaccreditation.

• The club memorial game is another good event to honor those members who have sadly passed away. The event is also used to raise funds for good causes such as water wells in Africa and other parts of the world.

• The youth cricket festival run during the summer months and targets young people from the most deprived inner city wards. It is also our aim to ensure that local young people are engaged in the sport and looked after in a secure environment.

• Young people are also assisted with social, moral and cultural values to enhance their understanding and knowledge of their local communities.

• Youth league and cup competitions (May, June and July’ 2022) were successfully completed with all youth squads performing well. As is usual all youngsters capable of being fit for County trials were selected and this year two youngsters were selected to represent the County for their age group.

• Senior cricket on Saturday and Sunday is successful with ALL squads performing well as detailed below.

• The end of season Super 10 cricket tournament held in September has now become a major event to raise funds for the club as well as to host the fast format of the game for local cricket lovers. This year the S10 attracted 12 teams and the winners were B “n” Q, a local team

sponsored by a local business.

We do not make any grants. We invest in the training and coaching of our youth and making sure the youth section is properly supported and funded.

We have around 24 volunteers who help the club to run activities and help to maintain the facilities.

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

For the period 1[st] April 2022 to 30[th] September 2022 the club’s Main activity being cricket was as follows:

• Participated in league and cup organized competitions for:

• ALL Saturday squads play in the Warwickshire County Cricket League. The position of the Saturday squads was as follows:

  • 1[st] team, was runner up in the premier division. This squad of players also broke many league records with big partnerships and big scores.

  • 2[nd] team, in Div 3 positioned itself in 3[rd] place and just missed promotion.

  • 3[rd] team, won promotion to div 5

• 4[th] team, safely secured their position in div 7.

• o Sunday senior 1[st] XI finished 2nd in the table. The 2[nd] XI promoted to Div of Arden Sunday League.

• U11 played pairs cricket and as the squad was new recruits, they manged to put up a good show. It is pleasing to note that there is potential for this squad to do well next season.

• U13 played in the championship league of WCB and again with new squad were at times out of their depth. However, they will do well in 2023.

• Club’s U17/U19 continue to perform well and yet again reached the final of NatWest T20. A number of youngsters were selected for the various age range and the club is proud of its achievements in this area as we continue to gain success at various age groups.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

As a very small charity we do not have financial capability to appoint an auditor, however here is the process of making sure our accounts are delivered accurately and conform to good standards in line with our values and objectives.

 Club has a treasurer who volunteers to perform this duty

 The treasurer is elected member of the management committee and presents monthly accounts to the management

 The treasurer prepares the accounts on a template annually with various headings for income and expenditure

 When the accounts are finalized all evidence is submitted to an independent qualified accountant who offers this service in kind and audits the accounts and finalises them for publication

 The accounts are annually presented at the club AGM and uploaded on the Charity Commission’s website, under Annual Return

 The accounts uploaded are based on this methodology.
