The Aims of the CIO:
A project to set up an Historic Buildings Trust to acquire and renovate the former Captain Superintendent’s Residence at Pembroke Dockyard, along with its former garden, transforming this currently derelict Grade II* listed building and its setting into a self-supporting community asset.
The work of the CIO 31 Mar 2020 to 1 April 2021
During this period The Commodore Trust sought, and received, grant funding to produce a viability report regarding future possible uses of the former Commodore. The sum sought was
Grants were sought from:
Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF), who awarded a grant of 39% of the final cost of the viability study (This projected figure was £12,880);
The Pilgrim Trust, who awarded a grant of £7,200.
The Commodore Trust was most grateful to both bodies for their funding award.
Mr Tim Morris, of Piece Regen was engaged to produce the viability report and this was completed towards the end of March 2021. The grant monies had not been claimed by 31 March 2021.
The COVID pandemic greatly inhibited the work of the CIO and meetings were difficult to arrange, although many discussions were conduct via email and on one occasion, by Zoom.
Communication with the owners agent was maintained.
