## **Trustees' Annual Report 2022-23**

**deaf awareness: NE** was established to raise deaf awareness amongst people and communities and bring together deaf and hearing people with areas of common interest.

As of April 2022 the organisation was delivering weekly sessions both in-person and online. These sessions included regular sports and health based sessions, tinnitus support, a deaf chat group, sign language and signed singing.

Following the success of these sessions we were able to launch a Health Inequalities Funded Project called DASH (deaf access to sport and health), and a project based on Racket sports via Better Together funding.

Later in the year we added an Arts & Creativity regular session to our programme and two part-time workers were enlisted to help deliver the full weekly programme.

Alongside the weekly programme we continued to develop our deaf awareness training delivery and we set up a series of deaf access visits to various venues within the local area. A promotional video was made to help advertise our deaf awareness training programme and all money raised from deaf awareness training was reinvested into our delivery of weekly sessions and activities.

Our organisation was once more accepted into the Co-op Local Community Fund and this offered opportunities for additional fundraising activity.

Along with such fundraising activity, membership subscriptions and donations have again been extremely valuable in helping us to maintain the diversity and quality in service delivery that we take pride in offering.

Our social media platforms play a big part in helping to keep our members informed and connected, with regular updates on our website and positive posts appearing across our Facebook page.

Our members, volunteers and Board of Trustees remain key to the success of our organisation and we, once again, thank each and every person for their attendance, contribution and support throughout this financial year.
