The objectves of the Group are as a unit of the Scout
Associaton. The Aim of The Scout Associaton is: “To
promote the development of young people in
achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and
spiritual potentals, as individuals, as responsible
citzens and as members of their local natonal and
internatonal communites.”
The method of achieving the aim of the Associaton is
by providing an enjoyable and atractve scheme of
progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and
Law and guided by adult leadership.

achieved in 2025. The Group held a successful group
camp bringing sectons together and contnued to
deliver a broad range of actvites across all sectons,
including camps, sleepovers, trips, and partcipaton in
district and group events.
The launch of the Squirrels secton (ages 4–6) in
September 2025 marked a signifcant expansion of the
Group’s provision. The secton began with 12 members,
delivering a range of actvites and engaging parents to
support delivery. The Group also saw contnued growth
through partnership with the Heatons’ Explorer group
(ages 14-18) now headquartered at 1st Heaton Moor,
further strengthening progression pathways for young
people.
Volunteer capability was strengthened through three
leaders achieving kayaking permits, enabling the Group
to expand the range of actvites ofered.
This year, the Group experienced signifcant progress,
investment, and growth, supported by the contnued
commitment of volunteers, trustees, and parents.
Alongside programme delivery, there was a strong
focus on maintenance and infrastructure
improvements. Works completed included drainage
repairs to prevent fooding during events, repaintng of
the main hall and back room, installaton of a new fre
alarm system, servicing of fre extnguishers,
completon of a fre risk assessment, and electrical
safety testng (EICR) being carried out for the frst tme.
Grant funding received during the year (£9,199.88) was
utlised to support investment in equipment and
infrastructure. This included the purchase of tents,
storage shelving, associated equipment, and a
signifcant investment in a new trailer. Further
investment included refurbishment of the existng small
trailer and improvements to the Scout Hut, including
the creaton of a parent lounge area.
The Group has contnued to achieve its objectves of
growth, investment, and programme delivery.
Programme objectves were demonstrated through
sustained delivery of actvites across all sectons, while
investment objectves were achieved through targeted
improvements to facilites and equipment, supportng a
safe and sustainable environment for actvites.
Fundraising objectves were also met, with the Group
delivering a record-breaking beer festval, enabling

wide actvites, alongside strong badge and award
atainment across all age groups.
Fundraising objectves were also met, with the Group
delivering a record-breaking beer festval, enabling
