The Aim of The Scout Association is: “To<br>promote the development of young people in<br>achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and<br>spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible<br>citizens and as members of their local national and<br>international communities.”<br>The method of achieving the aim of the Association is<br>by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of<br>progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and<br>Law and guided by adult leadership.<br>As Scouts we are guided by the values of integrity,<br>respect, care, beliefs and co-operation.|

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to the<br>circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a whole.|Para 1.20|This year, the group supported activities for two<br>Beaver colonies (ages 5 – 8), two Cub packs (ages 8 –<br>10), one Scout troop (ages 10 – 14) for approximately<br>153 young people.<br>Over the Group we successfully organized 9 camps<br>including participation in trips to Disneyland Paris, the<br>Crocky Trail, the local Pantomime, a city centre<br>theatre, a Badge Day, a Roller Disco, a trip to Chill<br>Factore, a Water Fun Day and Climbing activities.<br>As part of the routine ongoing activities the Group<br>continued to hold weekly meetings and badge<br>activities. These activities have fostered a sense of<br>community, environmental stewardship, and personal<br>development amongour members.|

|Achievements against<br>objectives set|Para 1.41|We met our objectives of maintaining our maximum<br>membership, enhancing leader training, and<br>expanding our activity program.  Achieving these<br>objectives has benefitted the maximum numbers of<br>young people in the local area with a broad range of<br>opportunities for personal growth.<br>We achieved our objective to continue the long<br>overdue maintenance and upgrades to the Scout<br>Hut, replacing the dilapidated kitchen and leaking<br>storage container housing maintenance tools and<br>camping equipment, paid for from previous rounds<br>of fundraising.  The Hut upgrades ensure a functional<br>space for both scouts and the wider community and<br>have put us in a position to be able to hire out the<br>Scout Hut to external groups. Overall, these efforts<br>contribute to the development of responsible, active<br>individuals and strengthen the local community,<br>creating long-term benefits for both members and<br>the local community.<br>We achieved our objective to raise additional funds<br>for the group by applying for our first grant with the<br>Vernon Charitable Foundation.  We had our<br>application approved and on receipt of £4199.88<br>were able to replace our tents with 14 new inflatable<br>tents.  This equipment update allowed us to continue<br>to provide around 10 camps per year, maximising<br>outdoor activity opportunities for the young people<br>in the group.|
