Trustees Report 

The Trustees present their annual report together with the Financial  statement of  Holderness Lions Club Charitable incorporated Organisation (the Charity) for the 12 month period ending the30th June 2025. The Trustees confirm that the annual report and financial statement of the charity comply with the current statutory requirements, the requirements of the charity’s governing document and the provisions of the statement of the Recommended Practice (SORP) ‘Accounting and reporting by Charities’ issued in March 2015 



Structure Governance and Management 

Holderness Lions Club Charity registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation on the 24[th] May 2018. 

The Constitution stipulates that the number of Trustees shall be a minimum of three and a maximum of twelve. The president secretary and Treasurer are all mandatory trustees. Any member taking up those posts must be a trustee. The process for appointment of trustees is stipulated in the constitution. A Trustee meeting is held when required and in any case every two months. This meeting manages the governance of the club as set out under the charitable Incorporated Organisation constitution 

The Charity’s insurance requirements are covered under Lions Club International MultipleDistrict106 insurance arrangements

To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions Clubs

To be the global leader in community and humanitarian service 

Objects 

The objects of the CIO are such purposes as are exclusively charitable in England and Wales including in particular: 

The advancement of citizenship by: 

Promoting the principles of good citizenship 

Encouraging membership take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community 

Provide a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest provided that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by members 

Encouraging service-minded people to serve their community without personal reward and encouraging the promotion of High ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavours 

Supporting youth to develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to  participate in society as mature and responsible individuals 

Promoting the voluntary sector for the public benefit by associating with local authorities in a common effort to advance education and provide facilities in the interest od social welfare for 



recreation or other leisure time occupation to improve the conditions of life of people in local, national and international communities 

## Promoting volunteering 

The relief of poverty and the relief of those in need in particular by providing humanitarian aid and disaster relief 

The advancement of health or the saving of lives by preventing avoidable blindness, assisting disabled people to lead independent lives or helping to prevent or manage health issues 

Promoting for the benefit of the public the conservation protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment and/or 

Promoting community participation in healthy recreation 

The Trustees confirm they have complied with the duty in section4 of the Charities Act  2006 to have due regard to the Charity Commissioner’s general guidance on public benefit ‘Charities and Public benefit’. This year the CIO have continued to provide public benefit and the Trustees will explain how this  has been achieved in this report 

All the administration expenses of the CIO are dealt with through the Administration account’ the balance  of which does not include any money raised  from members of the public. The Trustees can confirm the CIO does not  have any outstanding debts or liabilities 

The CIO has a grant making policy, all applications are considered by the Trustees at their meetings. The Trustees then make recommendations which are considered by all the members of the CIO. The procedure for the process is outlined within the constitution 

Donatidons 

In this perio the club had an income of £7776.12 

We continued to provide service activities, including members of the club assisting with community activities to assist the vulnerable. Our fund  raising is through our bingo sessions raffles Christmas and Easter Hampers tombola’s and our Christmas sleigh 

The CIO donated £690.00         to Lions Club International Charities during this period 

The CIO  has supported cause to the sum of £5890.00 

The CIO continues to try and recruit new members but this continues to be a struggle 

## Membership 

Membership of the CIO at the end of June 2025 was 10 active members. Members have a formal meeting once a month and take part in social and fund raising activities of the CIO

On the accounts for the year ended 30[th] June 2025 Charity Nos1178505 Set out in the accounts submitted herewith 

I report to the Trustees on my examination of the accounts  for the above charity (The Trust for the year ended 30[th] June 2025 

Responsibilities and                   As the charity’s trustees you are responsible for the preparation Basis of report                         Of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”) 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, i have followed all the applicable directions given  by the Charity Commission  under section 145(5)(b) of the Act 

Independent                           I have completed my examination. I confirm that no  material examiners statement               matters have come to my attention in connection with the Examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material Respect:- 

The accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 



130 of the Charities Act; or 

The accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or The accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements Concerning the form and the content of accounts set out in the Charities (accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other then any Requirements that the accounts give a “true and fair” view which Is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination I have no concerns and have not come across no other matters in Connection with the examination to which attention should be Drawn to this report yo enable a proper understanding of the Accounts to be reached
