## Warren Wood - GU16 8SW Ancient Woodland **Summary of the main achievements of the charity** Restoration. (1.35 Hectares) **during the year**
This was our first working site which commenced in November 2018. We are now finally at the end of the removal of invasive species, mainly Holly, Laurel, and a small amount of Snowberry. Once again during the year we were delighted to have support from Surrey Choices. Our volunteers have done an amazing job and it is lovely to see the flowering of revived native plant life, including Daffodils, Anemone and Bluebells, to hear bird song which had been missing for many years, and note the large amount of Badger activity in this beautiful woodland oasis surrounded by housing. Our average Volunteer turnout at this site is estimated as about 5 per session. Going forward, we now need to keep the wood clear of regrowth from the invasives and garden (domestic) plants, to encourage the native plants to thrive for future generations to enjoy. R M A Sandhurst GU15 4PQ -Woodland Maintenance and Ivy Reduction This was a new site for us in 2022, and is not without its challenges due to security protocols and staff communications. However, we have overcome these challenges so far, and much enjoyed our efforts. We were invited to work with RMA as the trees planted in the late 1800s are very much mature now and need a helping hand to overcome the Ivy and some under storey competition. Volunteer numbers on this project are about 4 to 5 per session which is very acceptable, considering that we work there one Saturday per month, and all helpers have to be security cleared, which takes time. Frimley Green Recreation Ground and Woodland GU16 6LB - Approximately 1,000 saplings were planted at Frimley Green Recreation Ground. Further, we are now carrying out a large amount of old dense understorey clearance to allow the woodland to once again rejuvenate and improve sight-lines and security for walkers. Average Volunteer numbers per session between 9 to 13 per session.

## **Crawley Ridge Junior and Infant School Sites (2) GU15 2AJ**
At both schools we have enhanced outside Forest Schools at both these sites, to enable pupils to be taught outside, and in a woodland context, about the environment and all things nature. This is very much part of our educational aims.
## **Bullswater Common, GU24 0LZ**
We helped build a Dead Hedge to contain Goats whilst they are on the heathland for environmental purposes.

While income has been limited, we have sufficient funds to be comfortable at the moment and have no immediate concerns. Income during the year was £166.50 against expenditure of £579.66 leaving us funds of £2,286.42
