Achievements and Performance
| Conservation | We started the year in lockdown and were therefore unable to do any site work until the end of March when we began a gentle recommencement that took into account the start of nesting season. Sites we are currently supporting include: Crawley Ridge Junior School GU15 2AJ. We helped create a new Forest School area so the initial one could be “rested” |

| "Warren Wood" by a SH Tree Warden It was dark and abandoned, forgotten it stood, Our local ancient woodland, it’s called Warren Wood. It needed our help, it needed our love, It needed the sun light to come in from above. An Army of people decided they’d care, So, one afternoon, with their tools, they met there. A plan was agreed, it was now time to start, With clearing and chopping it would soon look so smart. This jobs much too big, muttered some worried voices, But the Tree Wardens were helped by those strong Surrey Choices. As time passed, the dark lifted, the paths became clear, And the work carried on, year after year. And now as I write this, I sit in the wood, It feels open, alive and as a Wood should. The bird song so perfect, the Squirrels at play, The Badgers are sleeping through this cold winter’s day. It’s a joy just to sit here, forever if I could, In this beautiful woodland we call Warren Wood. |
