P*a146
The principle risk of the Association is lack of
users. We generate our own income by
trying to keep the hall ￿sY with activitEs to
attract our residents. We now have 12
volunteer Tntstees, who give their time and
skills freety and who work hard to
ish this end.

A regular a(fvert in our kical free paper for 6
rnonlhs of the year has r8ised awareness of
tho Centre and quite a few enquiries for
LM)oking the Hall, either for regular classes or
private functions such as children's birthday
parties. were forthcoming. In addition we
knryw from word of mouth that awareness of
th8 Centre has in¢reased in the local area.
Approximately £11.000 was invested in
replacing windows and doors with doubl
glazed unrts wh￿h has dramatically
increased the warnith in the building, Ihis
being commented upon by attendees.
The Tru51ees cx)ntinue lo work hard to r
establish and increase our programme of
events and a¢tivit*s and instil confidence in
the residents to retum and take place in
S(￿la1 activities and events.
This included more aclivilies for our younger
re8idents in the form of Junior 8gdminton,
JUn￿r SeHing Squad and a Primary Schi)ol
Tutor Class, albeit some of these only ran for
few mcffiths. Our okder ￿Idents
benefited from a new Exercise dass and
Aduli Sewing (both Tunning for a shorter
duraknon), and a Communty Choir that
started in Odober, whilst our IT classes,
minton and the monthly Ladies Group
and Coffee. Cake and Stuff continue to be
very well attended.
In 2025 the Trustees held 5 Events which
included some new ideas to embrace
families. such as a Fami
Fun Da
and an

Autumn Fayre. In additK)n the Annual
Santa Tour chose the Community Centre as
one of rts places for chikjren to meet Santa
with the Trustees putbng i)n refreshments
and welcorning residents to the Centre.
The combination of these activrties, and
other pre-exists'ng ones, ar8 proving popular
wth families, many of whom had only
recentty moved lo School Aycliffe and ha
he¥)ed integrate the various parts of the
crnimunity. encouraging r8sid8nts to make
new friends and the more cautious to
venture out again.
