FINANCIAL REVIEW
Regerves poliey
The trust¢cs have establi%hed a policy whereby there was an increase in charitable expenditure which meant thgt the charity's
reserves between 9 to 12 months were not met. The trustees have therefore implemented strategies to seek new donations
and governmeiit grants. Separately, we have implemented measures to reduce costs to eiisure these reserves are met in the
ture.
Going concern
The charity's financial performance for the year ended 31 March 2025 resulted in a deficit of £58,120 and an overall net
deficit of £67,384. This position reflects a deliberate and strdtegic transitioi) undertaken earlier in the year, durii)g which the
Trllstees agreed to chaii¥e the orgyanisation'5 direction and operatiiig rnodel. The charity moved from a traditional ¥srant- and
donation-dependent noi-for-profii model to a consultancy-based approach intended to support long-term financial
sustainability and resilience.
As with any change in operating model, the charity experienced initial development and implementation challenges during
the transition peiiod, and incon)e gtneiation has ntst }'et fully materialised M'ithin the ieportin¥ year. However, significant
progjress ha5 been made in establishing tlie Iiew offer, buildiiig partnerships, aiid positioning the charity for ￿tUre contracted
income.
In parallel, the Trustees have taken decisive action to reduce costs alld n￿nage financial risk. The staffillg structure has been
streamlined to one part-time role, with the intention thai. as income and workload increase, specialist freelance consultants
will be engaged on a flexible basis, aligned to reveiiue ¥eiieration and deniand. The overall c05t base ha5 been si¥nificantly
reduced, and expenditure is closely monitored. Further cost-control measures Temain available and can be iniplemented if
required.
The Trustees are confident that the actions taken during the year place the charity on a more sustainable footing. Income
generation under the new consultancy model is expected to commence in the next financial period, supported by continued
partnership developinent and prudent finai)cial managemei)t.
