|Summary ofthe main
achievements
ofthe charity
during the year||The
global
Covid-19
pandemic
has
had
a
significant
alfect
on
the
activities
and finances
of the charity
over this reporting
year. Following
government
guidelines,
the station dosed on Monday 23" March 2020.|
|||With
14 watchkeepers
willing
to carry
out watches,
we were able
to|
|||reopen
the station
on Monday
6th July 2020, albeit
with
strict hygiene|
|||and distancing
procedures
in place. This enabled a resbicted
service of|
|||two four-hour
watches
per day at best to take place, each
with
/ust
a|
|||single watchkeeper
on duty.|
|||In October 2020 our watchkeepers,
being a part of HM Coastguard
and|
|||under
HM
Government's
definitions
of 'Public
safety
and
national|
|||security',
received
Key Worker
status
and, therefore,
able to travel
to|
|||their place ofwork dling resbicted times. This allowed us to continue
to|
|||offer a limited service as before throughout
the remainder
ofthe reporting|
|||year.|
|||The
limitations
due to the pandemic
caused
station
availability
to fall|
|||considerably.
Of the
maximum
possible
watches
over
the
reporting|
|||period
of 803, watchkeepsrs
were
on duty
for 532 of them
giving
an|
|||availability
of66.3%.|
|||With the public excluded
from visiting
the station
and the cancellation
of|
|||afi
normal
fundraising
events,
ths
charity
has
received
little
income.|

|||revenue,
appear
to have
suffered
from the trend
towards
a cashiess|
