## Annual Report of the Trustees

The Bristol Knee Charity to continued to function in 2024, but with a reduced income. It collects donations to knee research in the Bristol area and funds donations mainly to the Southmead Hospital Charity, who then fund the salaries of the North Bristol NHS employees who collect data and arrange studies in the clinical setting of North Bristol NHS Trust related to knee surgery.

## Published work:

Barksfield R, Hamal P, Hamal D, et al. (April 10, 2024) The Safety of Glycopeptide-Impregnated Calcium Sulphate Following Debridement, Antibiotics and Implant Retention (DAIR) for Infected Total Knee Replacement. Cureus 16(4): e57955. doi:10.7759/cureus.57955

2024 showed reduced donations but similar expense although this is forecast to drop significantly in 25/26 as the funding moves to the Southmead research department, North Bristol NHS Trust. In addition we have digitalised the collection of data to fit in with the retirement of 2 members of the research team which will reduce the salary costs within the Knee Group at NBT NHS Trust.
