Background
The Constitution of the Barkers Lane Wrap Around Care Club was registered with
the Charity Commission in May 2018 as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. It
was formed to act as the operational body pulling together the charity Barkers Lane
After School Club, Barkers Lane Nursery Plus and Barkers Lane Breakfast Club
under one management committee and one Board of Trustees. A15 charitable
aspects of the Club are overseen by the Board of Trustees.
The Wrap Around Care Club provides high quality childcare and education between
the hours of 7.45am lo 5.30pm 5 days of the school week term time and certain
holiday weeks for the parents and carers of children between 2 ½ and 11 years of
age. All children attending must be registered in advance with the Club to comply
with our safeguarding requirements.
Aims
We aim to provide appropriate age related play, educational and care facilities,
offering opportunities for all the children regardless of ability, religion, gender, culture
or race.
Through access to our indoor and outdoor play and learning opportunities, we offer
the children in the community the ability to engage in heaSthy, recreational and
educational activities.
Activities offered to the children include but not limited to..
Art & craft
Baking
Role play
Gardening
Quieubook corner
Sport activities
Indoor games
Public Benefit
Following the guidance within the statement of recommended practice (SORP) from
Ihe Charity Commission, we also report on the public benefit that the Club provides.
We believe that the services we offer provide parents the opportunity to continue
with their employment andlor training courses that they are engaged with, as we
provide a peace of mind for them, knowing Ihat the children are in safe, caring
hands. The children benefit from a less formal setting for these periods, taking
advantage to relax from the busy school day and, through involvement with younger
or older children outside of their usual peer group, enhance their individual social
and moral skills.
The staff who provide this care are also beneficiaries of the setting as they advance
and improve their knowledge and life experiences through daily interaction with the
children, parents and grandparents at the facility.

After School Club (including Breakfast Club and Holiday Club)
This has been another challenging year for Club with increasing operating costs. We
have continued the working practices we previously pul in p5ace to ensure the safety
and security of the children, parents and staff involved and updated risk
assessments as new guidance came through.
Parents were able to take advantage of the 30 hour funding scheme.
Staff have attended various professional training courses eg Food Hygiene,
Safeguarding etc as required for their roles and all staff are trained in first aid.
Next steps
Our ongoing maintenance regime continues and following a further successful granl
application, towards the end of 2024 we secured funding to develop the outdoor play
area, erect a large wooden gazebo to allow the children lo use the outdoors in
inclement weather, purchase new large resources and create gardening areas. Work
is also ongoing for maintenance of the ramps and handrails. We are now looking to
secure funding to revamp the floor covering inside the Centre.
The trustees declare that they have approved the trustees, report above.
