The provlslon of a safe warm. welcoming environment for communlty groups and indlvk1uals requiring assistance and
advlce.

The Trustees have Insttgated a prograrnrne of buildlng and ground maln¢enance to enable sporting artivities to tske place
on the playlng flelds. Proposed Improvements to the dralnage on the pltches will allevlate fixture problem5 With the local
l•a9ues for Lx)th R￿bY an¢ Football. allowing rnore gatnes to be arranged thrwghout the seasons.
The Trustees have invited the local Junior School to the facilities for their Sports Day. We have extended thls Invltatlon
to TS Sovereign, the Local Borrow Island Sea Cadet Unlt to use for thelr outdoor actlvltles. The building of Cumbrla
University Campu5 on Barrow Island may provlde the opportunity to work the Unlversity Trustees to provide sports and
recreational delivery classe5 as part of the currfculum.
For the start of 2024125 football Seas￿ we are taklng on an add￿lonal l Glrts Junior Football teams + I more opon age
team, to IncorwratÈ a wider take up of sport and soclal actlvltles assoclated with the Increase In numbers Involved.

contlnues to support and faalStste events for the local a￿a. The Hub Is now fuly funrtioning and maklng Income to be self-
sufflcient.
The Cumbrla Mastef s Rugby League Festlval wa5 hosted by BICST Ltd; thLs event Involved 12 visiting teams from Cumbrla.
Lancashlre and Yorkshire and was very successful. The Community Hub provided and hosted Christmas Partles for both
local Senlcr Cltlzens and children and is also a well-used venue for dance troupes, Amateur Dramatic groups and other
organlsatlons offeriw Yoga, Pilates and Craft Falrs.
BICST Ltd is very pro￿* of the achievernents made in such a short period of time. The Board Inten¢J to bulld on these
successes in 2023 and alm to identify and resolve any issues that may impact on the local and wller Barrow communlty
before they affert individuals or groups.
We also are justifiably proud of the work carrfed out by local volunteers to continuously Improve the sports pltches to
enable Var￿US teams to enjoy clean and playable pltches for a small prorx)rtion of the year.
Partnership5 have gone from strength to strength over the last year. We established a Wam Hub throughout the winter to
5UPPQrt residents from the Bairow Area in 9eneral by the provision of a space for them to meet others and have a meal
rather than remain isolated In their homes.
We have a well*stablished Slimmlng wot1d groupt which help to promote Healrhy 1Sfestyle and wellbelng.
After Coming out of the pandemlc lockdown both hall and sports pltch use is increasing steadlty. Groups now using the hall
include, Age Concern.
ANA, Mulri-cu￿ural Soclety. Walw Theatre Group and Cast Theatre Groupi wh￿h run ¥longslde pnvate group hire.

Our utility bills are causing Y￿at concern for the trustees and volunteers involved. to thls end we have rn8de 5ever81
changes to the premises {changlng any energy provldersl Ind have organlsed a revlew of eneryy provision with local green
eneryy provider5. We aitn to K)ok at the posslbllity of fitting solar panels t¢ the roof and other available energy savlng
dewce5 through this consullatlon.
At the end of the year we've managed to foige Ilnks wlth BAE Systems and the new unlverslty of Curnbria from th15 we've
hatj a guarantee offer of substantial donatlon from BAE Sy5terThs to build an tsrangery whlch would allow u5 in the futu￿ to
provide coffee mornlThgs for local resitlents and the wlder area, also with links to the uThlversity for cateringi and allow us to
hold lèrger events In the foreseeablo future . the planning petThission has been secured and will be IoDking to start the work
once extra fundln9 15 secured,
