**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

**Zoom meetings started during the Covid lockdown and Social media, have continued to provide the opportunity to share experiences and achievements with like minded modellers both within the Society and in the wider UK and overseas community of railway modellers.**

**Following the restrictions imposed during the Covid pandemic it has taken some time to rebuild the ‘in person’ activities of meetings and model railway activities. The Society has been pleased to gain some new members and also a number of young members accompanied by father or grandfather, who wish to encourage their son/grandson in railway modelling.**

**The Society was able to hold its Annual Model Railway Show during the autumn half term thanks to the assistance of the local school where the Show has been held for many years. The Annual Show is the main way of promoting interest in and showcasing railway modelling to the wider public, and the Society was greatly encouraged that attendance by the public was similar to prepandemic.**

**Members have been generous in donations to the Society, and this has enabled the Society to claim Gift Aid from HMRC.**

**Plans have been put in place for future events, such as a free Open Day in the clubrooms to enable members of the public to appreciate the activities of railway modelling, showcasing the societies operational layouts, and also to support other Model Railway Societies by taking layouts to their Shows.**
