**Grantmaking** SARDA Anglia currently has an informal policy on grant-making, as a small organisation the only grants the organisation makes, are for small amounts to some members for the purchase of specialist support items. You **may choose** to include **Investments** further statements, where relevant, about: SARDA Anglia does not have any investments.

- policy on grantmaking;

- policy programme related investment;

- contribution made by volunteers.

**Contribution By Volunteers** SARDA Anglia is entirely volunteer run and supported and therefore the contribution made by volunteers is immeasurable. Volunteer handlers train every day with their dogs and it can take 2+ years to train a dog to the basic qualification standard. Volunteers also support the operations of the organisation by attending callouts, training, and other events. All volunteers expend significant time, effort and their own funds supporting the organisation and its aims. As a team of volunteers, we are on call 24/365 to the emergency services.

Section D                      Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

The Covid-19 pandemic had a significant impact on SARDA Anglia and much of the team training was suspended on safety grounds. However, team members’ and their dogs continued to train individually, and it was important to continue this for the welfare of the dogs and to be available for any callouts as required

It should be noted that during the pandemic the team has remained available. Additionally, many SARDA Anglia members have been regularly engaged in Covid-19 volunteering and support across the region.

**Section E                    Financial review**

SARDA Anglia has a general policy of holding two years funds in reserve, **Brief statement of the** as previously stated the running costs are low and can be manged **charity’s policy on reserves** flexibly.

**Details of any funds materially** No funds in deficit **in deficit**

## **Further financial review details (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include additional information, where relevant about:

- the charity’s principal sources of funds (including any fundraising);

- how expenditure has supported the key objectives of the charity;

- investment policy and objectives including any ethical investment policy adopted.

SARDA Anglia receives no funds from any statutory services and therefore fundraises independently to support its running costs and operations etc.

Over the reporting period because of the pandemic, SARDA Anglia’s income has much reduced. However, expenditure has also been minimised. It should be noted that because of SARDA Anglia’s appropriate governance standards the charity maintains an informal Reserves Policy of holding at least two years funds, therefore the financial impact of the pandemic has been minimised.

Expenditure has supported the organisation by funding basic running costs, including insurance and admin expenditure, although most admin is absorbed by members or from support from members’ employers etc.

Expenditure has been primarily used for the purchase of essential equipment including radios and safety equipment. SARDA Anglia also funds the expenses for the external assessors attending assessments. External assessors are generally sought from mountain rescue teams from England and Wales as they have the experience, skills and qualifications and are appropriately independent.

SARDA Anglia has no investments and therefore no policy is currently required.
